Munzee is a 21st century scavenger hunt game taking geocaching to a new level.
Munzee is a real world scavenger hunt game where items are found in the real world and captured using your smartphone. You then level up and gain rank based on your score. Points are obtained by capturing other people's munzees or when your deployed munzees are captured by someone else. Munzee is based off of the fundamentals of geocaching and adds another layer of fun to the hunt.
WHAT DO MUNZEES LOOK LIKE?
Munzees come in any size or shape but all must contain a QR-code style barcode. The barcode combined with your GPS coordinates are the essential gameplay elements of munzee. Munzees can be hidden in containers, camoflauged or even in plain view.
Munzees have started showing up all over. Get in the game and start hiding munzees near you.
COMING NEXT
Gameplay is in the infant stages of expanding into something that will spread like wildfire. We will be constantly tweaking and enhancing things based on your feedback.

[2013-08-11] A Google User: Frustrated - saved in Offline Queue, but won't upload because no GPS lock Having geocached for 10 years, when I saw Munzee I thought I'd give something different a try. While abroad on holiday, I found a circular route of Munzees near where I was staying. I downloaded them into an offline mapping program (I don't use data roaming when abroad). I captured 13 Munzees, all of which went into the Offline Queue without any problem. When I got back to the hotel (which has wifi), I tried to upload them - only 6 worked successfully, the other 7 complaining "Sorry, you need to have a GPS lock before you can capture a munzee". I assume this is because my phone didn't have a GPS signal at the time I scanned the munzee - WHY DIDN'T THE APP TELL ME THEN, rather than wait until I tried to upload when I got back to the hotel??? I'm frustrated, since I really can't be bothered to go out and scan them again, so I'm uninstalling this app as soon as I've written this review. Back to geocaching... |

[2013-08-02] A Google User: Fun game I'm not sure if it is my phone, but the GPS location on the hunt map is usually about 30 feet off. Luckily, most captures have some decent notes and/or journal entries. I'm looking forward to version 2 as it sounds like a big step up to the application. Cheers. |

[2013-07-30] A Google User: Upset Cool concept, and Id love to be a part of this- but as soon as I downloaded the app, my service dropped and I couldn't make phone calls. Now that it's deleted from my phone, I can connect again. Fix this and I can fix my rating. |
