Hayden Leslie Panettiere (born August 21, 1989) is an American actress and Grammy-nominated singer. She is of Italian and French descent born to Lesley Vogel, a former soap opera actress and Alan Panettiere, a fire department lieutenant. Hayden started her acting career as a model at just four months of age and appeared in commercials at 11 months.
Her career got a real lift when she appeared in the ABCsoap opera One Life to Live (1994-97). She became more famous in the NBCseries Heroes (2006-10) in a cheerleader role. In between, she appeared in several full-length feature films several films for TV, including If You believe (1999) and Remember the Titans (2000). Panettiere was also nominated for a Grammy award in 1999 for A Bug’s life.
Besides acting and singing, Hayden is known for environmental activism for saving dolphins and whales from hunters in Japan and Norway as well as a teen ambassador in a mission to fight teen pregnancies.
