Concert for Japan is a worldwide, cross-culture event celebrating Japanese culture and aiding in the recovery of the country. The two day humanitarian Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Concert will take place on September 3rd and 4th 2011 in Downs view Park Toronto. It will feature Canadian and international artists; day one will include rock and indie artists and day two will be dedicated to dance and pop acts .
Along with the music, there will be features that have never been seen at any Canadian festival before like the suspended bar with a private dj that is crane-lifted eight stories into the air, and a zip line that will propel concert-goers over the crowd of an estimated 30,000 people over both days of celebration.
100% of all net proceeds, through ticket, merchandise purchases and donations will go towards Ashinaga, Japan Earthquake Relief Foundation, and Global Giving.
The project aims to help 90,000 orphans, children, elderly and people who became homeless due to the devastating earthquake and ensuing tsunami.
