Wonderful Words is a flash-card based language learning app for expanding your English vocabulary. It contains a 1000 words graded in 20 difficulty levels ranging from relatively easy words, e.g., preponderance, which are suitable for a high-school student studying for the SATs, to really difficult words, like, perhendinancer, which should prove a challenge for even the most erudite word enthusiast.
The app teaches words by flashcards. This means that you are shown a word and given time to think what it means. You are then showed the answer. If you knew it you tap success, otherwise you tap fail. The app will keep track of how well you know the different words and expose the ones you no less well to you more frequently.
You can take test at the different levels and earn star ratings based on your performance, allowing you to keep good track of your progress.
In difference to other apps of this sort, Wonderful Words grades the words in difficulty, allowing you to take a diagnostic test to make sure you start on the difficulty level that suits you. This allows you to be exposed to, for you, new, but useful words to add to your current vocabulary.
We who have developed this application love words. That's why we have taken great care in choosing our wordlist. The words are rare (some extremely so), but useful, funny and in short, simply wonderful.
