Who is Dr. Edward B. Fry?
In 1996, Dr. Fry expanded on Dolch’s sight word lists and research and published a book titled “Fry 1000 Instant Words.” His research found that a mere 25 words make up approximately 1/3 of all items published. He discovered that 100 words comprise approximately 1/2 of all publications written, and 300 words make up 65% of all written material.
Fry developed his list based on the facts and he worked to inspire young children to memorize these sightwords to jump-start the reading process. Fry’s sight words lists are widely used today and highly respected by both teachers and parents.

[2012-07-28] A Google User: Good app Lots of site words. Grades don't match site words taught by Phoenix schools, but still good. We like to turn the initial saying of the words so that the word is only said by the app if the kids don't know it and touch it. |
|
[2012-07-28] A Google User: Good but some words are to quiet. Great idea and works well except for some of the words needing to be much louder / all words should be at the volume level. |

[2012-07-15] A Google User: Fantastic! So happy to have found this app. My six year old used to hate practicing her Fry words. Now she loves having an excuse to "play" with my phone. The best part is that she is learning! Totally worth the 99 cents paid. |

[2012-02-03] A Google User: Good but buggy Force close on asus transformer prime (ICS) when home icon is tapped. Otherwise, good app. Would be better if audio could be disabled during play instead of having to back track to settings option on home screen. |
