German gender quiz (v. 1.0) Разработано Nicola Tesser |
Test your knowledge of german words gender with this educational game.
This game consists of guessing the gender of a German word. At every stage you will see a random German noun, and you can guess its gender by clicking on the 3 buttons ('der' for masculine, 'die' for feminine and 'das' for neutral words).
A simple but clever algorithm will you to learn from your mistakes: if you click the wrong answer, you can be sure that the wrongly answered question will be asked you again soon, so you have the possibility to answer correctly the next time (and learn!).
This app has been developed from a german learner for german learners (I really need it myself)... I hope it can be as useful for you as it is for me.

[2013-06-17] A Google User: Hey Plzz add pictures for word because most of word i don't know what it mean |
[2013-06-09] A Google User: Fail I am a German native speaker and you got quite a few wrong. According to you, 'Schnuersenkel' is femenine which is true but only if used in plural. The correct article is 'der'. Another example is 'Mitternacht' which is used without any article. And so on.... |
[2013-04-26] A Google User: Ok app Would be better if english translations were given to learn the words. |
[2013-03-18] A Google User: Good. Few word is wrong 99% is good. Few is wrong Answer for "Gondel" is "die". "Sandkaste" must be "Sandkasten" and few more words are wrong. But It's good for free |

[2012-12-29] A Google User: Great! |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Great little app Very simple app but very useful for learning German. I like to use it when I only have a few minutes to study, since it doesn't require a lot of concentration and you can jump in quickly. Highly recommended for all students of German. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Does one thing good It is a really simple app, trying to teach you the articles/gender of german nouns, no more no less. I like that the wrongly answered questions are asked again soon after the error, so one must really learn all the correct genders otherwise they will keep on pop up. |
[2012-12-14] A Google User: Good but... It would be perfect if it includes the meaning of each German world or its translation |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Almost Perfect Got words, got stats. Everything I looked for. But some mistakes with genders, for example Gondel : app said that Gondel is maskulin. Maybe you should add a button like "report a word mistake". It could makes your app absolutely perfect. |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Great job! Very helpfull app. It would be even better though..if you added the translation of the words;) nevertheless thanx a lot! |
[2012-11-21] A Google User: Good A very good app. However, can be improved. Firstly, some long words do not fit completely on screen, which can be fun as far as gender is concerned :) Secondly, in the list where you choose vocabulary categories, there is no 'select all' option (maybe unchecking all is the same, but it's not clear). Thirdly, harnessing user-generated content could make this app unique. Fourthly, seeing all recent mistakes in a separate list would be helpful. |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Brilliant Very good that it repeats those words which you have missed, and it keeps a high score so you have a feeling of your progress... This app helped me a lot to keep my German up to date! |
[2012-11-12] A Google User: :) For my school we learn German and we are learning masculine feminine and neutral so its helpful !! |
[2012-11-04] A Google User: wrong solutions Der Höflichkeit and der Enkelkind? It's enough that my German is not perfect, I don't want to learn wrong things. There are other better apps. |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Could have been good But there's like a ton of wrong answers and typos. Since it makes you repeat your wrong ones more often (good idea!) you unfortunately hammer in the wrong articles. Needs to be fixed badly. I am a native speaker by the way. |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Poor word choosing Why don't you create a list of important words for a real use of the language to be learnt. |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Very useful - thanks a lot! It would be great, if the mistaken words were added to a list, which one could review at will. Perfectly, the list would have the gender, the word per sé and translation (in case it is unknown). |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Grammar and spelling mistakes It's ok but teaches ppl who really want to learn a bit of German wrong things. Some words don't even make sense coz of the spelling mistakes. If you do this type of app make sure you are German yourself or at least use a proper dictionary. |
[2012-10-19] A Google User: Doesnt have the English translation |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Good. Few word is wrong 99% is good. Few is wrong Answer for "Gondel" is "die". "Sandkaste" must be "Sandkasten" and few more words are wrong. But It's good for free |
[2012-09-13] A Google User: Yay, german genders! A good app. Would be better if each word came with an english translation :) |
[2012-09-13] A Google User: Very nice But please add more.. at least something like the most common 1000 |
[2012-08-22] A Google User: Awesome but... Awesome! But....it would be great if if there was a way to see what the word means in English as well! Will be great to practice on my subway ride home from work. |
[2012-08-20] A Google User: Can't run |
[2012-05-25] A Google User: Needs translations |
[2012-05-06] A Google User: Selina Super app! Thanks a lot! |

[2012-04-12] A Google User: Great, but options need to be clearer. First, I just have to say that I love this program. I've been looking for something like this for years. As a native English speaker, I really just cannot seem to hang on to word genders. I mean, there are some that I get, but if I don't learn a word and its gender perfectly the first time, I will screw it up forever. What I needed was something like this. I could have made my own flash cards, but staying honest with flash cards can be a challenge. I found this and I couldn't be happier, except that I've been using it for a month and I was wishing there were more words. Today, I just happened to discover that you actually can change the settings--not that I haven't tried to "discover" a way before. Today, it just happened! I was delighted at the possibilities, but, alas, if I select the 50000 plus word option, it won't work on my phone. The genders appear, but the word does not. In order for the words to appear, I have to select the basic option and the advanced option, but I have yet to see a word that I haven't seen before. Trust me, I know ALL the words in the basic dictionary. Being able to reset the stats would be a nice feature. If I had this in high school . . |

[2012-03-20] A Google User: Great Thats a very nice way to learn some words genders! I was terrible w that and the program is helping a lot! |
