Perform astronomy on your Android phone and contribute to science!
Galaxy Zoo uses gorgeous imagery of hundreds of thousands of galaxies drawn from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope archive. To understand how these galaxies, and our own, formed we need your help to classify them according to their shapes — a task at which your brain is better than even the most advanced computer.
This app needs an internet connection every so often but is designed to work offline by saving galaxy photos to the SD card. When online and logged into Galaxy Zoo with the app, your answers are uploaded to the main system (periodically).
The photos that produced the images in this app were obtained from telescopes (i.e. Hubble) at or near their maximum power. While sometimes small and difficult to discern, these are the best images we have of these incredibly distant galaxies.

[2013-01-11] A Google User: Wish I could give 5 stars but It will not log me in. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling it a few times but nothing. There is always an error that says to wait 1-2 minutes and even then ... still nothing works. My info is correct, I am registered, it works fine on my computer ... I'm not understanding the problem here. I'll wait to see if you guys can fix this issue for the sole reason of wanting to participate in this project. Thank you and good luck! |

[2012-12-28] A Google User: Doesn't work Can't log in on any of my three devices (ICS Droid 4, Jelly Bean Nexus 7, Eclair Xperia X10 Mini). Username/pass work fine in a browser. On first launch the "Let's Go" button also doesn't work--you have to quit and restart it. Needs more cooking, I'm afraid... |

[2012-12-18] A Google User: Great Idea just allot of bugs Love the application, love the idea bringing it to the android. Unable to log in through the app changed pa on home page can log in,there but not app. Of course trying to view web page is a challenge. Will wait for improvements, keep at it ,an only go up and a great cause. |
