Dosham is an English to Chechen searchable dictionary made for the Android! You can search for words by typing in a search string or browse through words by entering the first letter. At the main screen, use the menu button on the device to open up the search keypad.

Version 1.1 is the LITE version and includes 1700 words. A paid version for 99 cents will come out soon and will offer more words, more grammatical references, verb conjugations, and much more. If you like the Lite version, be on a lookout for the next versions. Enjoy learning Chechen for free!

The highly rated Fashion Math game designed especially for girls, previously available only on the iPhone, now available for the Android.

Fashion Math is one of the only games specifically designed to make learning math fun and exciting for girls!  Girls start off by getting Credits for solving math equations in the Stars game, once they get the credits they can then buy items to dress up their doll Once the girls dress up their Fashion Doll, they can take her picture to show their friends.  The images are stored in the "fashionmath" directory on your phone's SD card.  The Fashion Math Pro Edition has a built-in Photo Gallery to view the dolls images.
With a large variety of dresses, hairstyles, shoes and pets, girls will be constantly inspired to play the Stars math game so they can change the accessories.

Settings: There are three items that can be adjusted in the settings screen.
*  The first setting is the numbers to use in the equations.  This is a slider that allows you to select the highest number to use in the equations.  Players will receive more credits per correct answer, in the stars game, as this setting is increased.
*  The second setting is the type of Question.  This allows you to select either Addition or Subtraction.
*  The third setting allows you to turn the sound on or off.

Earn Credits (Stars Game):  The Stars game will ask five questions based on the preferences defined in the Settings and display six stars for each question.  Girls then select the star with the correct answer.
Girls earn credits for each correct answer and lose credits for each wrong answer.

Dress Up: Once players earn credits, they can then go to the Dress Up section to purchase new hair, dresses, shoes and pets for their Fashion Doll.

Fashion Math was inspired by my desire to create a game that would make learning math fun and exciting for my daughters.

Fashion Math is a free Ad supported software package.  It requires permission to access the internet to retrieve ads and permissions to your SD Card to save images of the Fashion Dolls.

Sight Word Flash Cards is a simple word list practice program. It comes with a sample set of words, the Katy ISD Kindergarten, First Grade and most of the Second Grade Sight Words. The word list is completely customizable.  (Note, if you don't want to use the Katy ISD words, you can either unselect them or delete them altogether from the Manage Lists menu.)

*** PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ON FIRST RUN OF THE APPLICATION IT MAY LOOK FROZEN AS IT LOADS THE INITIAL WORDLIST.  Subsequent runs should load as normal.  

A good use of this app is to let your child review their vocabulary words from school.  When they are ready they can use Test mode to go through all the words once.

The word list can be cleared and new words may be imported from the SD card.  Imports should be in the format of a comma separated file (CSV) such as might be exported from Excel or OpenOffice.

For example, this would create (or expand in the case of existing lists) three lists:
My Spanish List, My Italian List, My Dutch list
hola, ciao, hallo
adiós, arrivederci, vaarwel

After installing an optional Text To Speech library the application will also attempt to speak the word when tapped.  Go into the options to enable TTS.  If you do not have the TTS libraries the Android Market will prompt you to install them.

A new features is the Word Flash, recently requested by a fellow user.  The Word Flash feature allows you to set the amount of time that a word appears. This feature has been used by speech-language pathologists to encourage clients to read the whole-word rather than letter-by-letter. This is based on something called the "Saffran Effect".

We are trying several different tasks in therapy:
1)  The clinician says a category "Type of animal" and then the word is flashed and the client says yes or no.
2)  The word is flashed and the client must say whether or not it was a word.
3) The word is flashed and the client tries to say the word.

Study Traditional and Simplified Chinese characters in a flashcard style format. This version takes words from the HSK lists (PRC's standard proficiency test) and uses the definitions from CC-CEDICT.

Randomly select words or use the word list to jump to a specific word. Optionally change what is displayed on each side of the virtual flash card.

If there is enough interest, I will add additional word lists.

"English in Pictures" is the game for learners of English. This application helps you learn new English words in a playful way.
Currently, the application contains about 250 words with pictures in topics:
