Flux Cards (flash cards) (v. 1.095) Разработано Wandersleb Leo |
Flux Cards helps you to have your flash cards always on you so you can learn as you go.
Study at the bus stop, after switching off your light at night or whenever you feel like having a minute.
Flux Cards always stores which cards need your attention and will let you focus on just these.
Of course you still can cram more but take care to not lose motivation.
== SUBSCRIPTIONS ==
FluxCards runs in one of three modes:
* FREE: no long streaks (cards of the selected sets will be presented for repetition at least every 16 days)
* EARLY BIRD: images, tilting screen and any future new feature contains some subscription reminder and/or is disabled. Early bird users are those that used FluxCards before the introduction of subscriptions.
* PREMIUM: no limitations for subscribers
== Getting Cards ==
Via Quizlet.com you can import over 8 million sets of cards in addition to typing them in yourself.
== Learning ==
Flux Cards uses a variation of Leitner system/spaced repetition
(Wikipedia on "spaced repetition": Spaced repetition is a learning technique that incorporates increasing intervals of time between subsequent review of previously learned material; this exploits the psychological spacing effect. Alternative names include spaced rehearsal, expanding rehearsal, graduated intervals, repetition spacing, repetition scheduling, spaced retrieval and expanded retrieval.")
Each flash card has a time stamp of when it was last shown to you and a count of times you knew the answer in a row.
The interval to show you this card again is increased with each time you knew the card.
If you don't know the card (red button) it will be shown to you in this session every some cards to get it into your short term memory.
You can set the card to not be shown in this session again (grey button).
With the first time you knew it (green button), it will be set to be repeated after some hours.
New flash cards - that is flash cards you never learned before - will only be added after you are out of cards due to be repeated.
This way you can learn for half an hour every day without getting only new cards all the time even when you start with a set of 10,000 cards.
PLEASE! If you miss a feature or don't like the background colour, don't rate at 1* and delete my app. I have quite some time at hands to improve it and giving 3* with the promise to make it 5* if XY is added is much more likely to get you the app that you want ;)
The competitors often have more buttons, timers and count downs. Flux Cards is good at presenting you the cards that you forgot. You are good at judging how long you want to stare at it per card or per day. And please, if there are cards that you constantly get wrong, reword the question. Knowing hundreds of cards but not this one is a clear sign there is something wrong with the question. Again, Flux Cards does not tell you which cards there are your problem cards. You know it better. Just hit the edit button ;)
== Stats ==
Flux Cards lets you know your learning progress. You can see when your cards will be due, how often you knew them in a row and what the estimated work load is and was in the past.
Please don't hunt for high scores but be honest when it comes to not knowing a card. I noticed how with all these stats I stronger tend to press the green button to not ruin my nice graphs, which lead me to pick stats that don't react too aggressively on single cards. Unfortunately I can't add a graph showing how honest one has been ;)
== Permissions ==
* WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE to import and export your flash cards to your SD-card
* INTERNET to import from Quizlet.com and give feedback
* BILLING in order to be able to offer advanced features for money. Features that were for free at the time of installation will continue to be for free for this installation.
… finally allow me to link an external review of a guy who knows the field :)

[2012-12-16] A Google User: Most expensive flashcard app, but limited function While I like the interface, the inability to use images without paying.. get this, not a one time charge to unlock premium features, but a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION?!?! I'm sorry, but a subscription fee doesn't make sense to me unless you're providing some sort of ongoing service. I pay a subscription for premium features, priority customer service, and larger data limits from Evernote and Dropbox, but FluxCards does not offer enough to justify a recurring monthly fee. Pros: interface works well with longer multi-step cards Cons: No web sync service (even with subscription) No images without monthly subscription No support for html or other tool to vary formatting |

[2012-11-06] A Google User: I heard this was a good app....guess not Don't know what's going on. Cannot upload my own flash card deck. UI is confusing. App is maimed without a subscription fee. |

[2012-10-28] A Google User: Great work, and free. Awesome app. I was looking for that long time. Thanks |
|
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Toefl 93! I passed my iBT test 93 with it. I'm sure I could go even farther if I practiced my;-) Very thanks dear devloper:-) |

|
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Nice app Use it for school |
|
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Would give 5$ and 5 *stars, if no subscirption Great app, but the 'subscirption' service for a flash card app? That needs to change. I'd like to pay for premium options, like landscape cards, but refuse to pay a subscription service. Please fix this, let me know, and I'll pay for the premium app. Other than that, does what it should, based on Leitner and easy to use. |

[2012-09-20] A Google User: Very useful for aprendo lenguas Good funcionality and great methodoligy for learning new languages |
|
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Seems to have great functionality But I can't get past the horrid UI. This app really needs to follow Android 4.X design guidelines. Encore, Study Blue have much better interfaces. Bubble eyes? REALLY? |
|
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Love this app. I use it every day to help me learn other languages. Had a few problems with the screen but they have since been fixed. |
|
[2012-08-27] A Google User: Great app! I absolutely love this app, thanks so much for making studying so easy! the only thing I would like for you to add is the option to take a picture whenever I want to add one to a flash card rather than only being able to select pictures from my gallery. thanks so much! |
|
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Great design Great design and study tools. Very good flash card interface. Makes learning fun and easy. Do not like the subscription, I would be more willing to pay a one time price. |
|
[2012-08-01] A Google User: Lacks import possibility, needs more info on subsc There doesn't seem an easy way to import your own cards, quizlet doesn't sync to your account and the import/export by textfile doesn't have a format which is easy to make your own cards with. also, there isn't any list of features which are subscribe-only, need to find out by trial and error (do you want to boost subscriptions?). otherwise seems nice, didn't play much with it |
|
[2012-07-12] A Google User: Uninstalled immediately. It's crippled and fairly useless unless you subscribe to a pay service. |
|
[2012-06-25] A Google User: Cool I use it to learn kanji:-) |
|
[2012-06-23] A Google User: Perfect Flash Card App I was looking for a simple easy to use flash card app for memorizing Scripture and this is perfect. You can do question then answer or answer then question mode or set a percentage mix which is excellent. The ones you know better less frequntly appear if you set it up that way. |
|
[2012-06-02] A Google User: Best for studying For your certs |
|
[2012-05-24] A Google User: Practical Maybe not the nicest looking flash card app, but very useful. Addictive, which is the best thing a study app can be... |
|
[2012-05-07] A Google User: G Next user love this app works great. Helps learn vocabulary and terms with ease. |
|
[2012-03-28] A Google User: Horribly UI Ugliest, least organized flashcard app I've used. |
|
[2012-02-18] A Google User: Never knew learning was fun A nice flash cards app with spaced repetition, quizlet-import, card editor and smooth appealing graphics. I use it every day and hunt for scores in my statistics. |
|
[2012-02-07] A Google User: Helluh Bomb! Totally worth it. Plus! It actually makes me WANT to study lol, soooo so far so good. |
|
[2012-01-31] A Google User: Best flashcard app I found Best flash card app on the market. interface got a really nice polish in latest update! Developer is responsive and helpful - made a transparent widget for me :) I like the in-app support chat, as i usually don't like giving my email address. |
|
[2012-01-08] A Google User: Lol Confusing navigation, Not polished, Strange colors |
