[2011-11-23] Ricardo: Not so great but resolve First of all the app not re-flow, is very difficult to adjust the text size, you can see the highlighted text copy and paste like in the web version. Conclusion: POOR APPS |
[2011-11-20] Dodge: Junk This app is mediocre at best. No text reflow, navigation is awkward, the app is rarely updated and the print doesn't scale well at all when you zoom. It's also nigh impossible to copy and paste things if you're trying to make flashcards. I might as well be using a regular textbook ... And trust me, next semester I will. |
[2011-11-15] Jason: No Text Reflow I was very much looking forward to using this app to read my texbook on my HTC Inspire and on my Android tablet, but the lack of text reflow hinders this app as to make it unusable. Hopefully the devs will decide to fix this at some point, as the lack of this feature defeats the purpose of the app. |
[2011-11-15] Carley: Pages don't adjust to easily readable screen size...makes reading a guaranteed headache...hopefully this will soon change! |
[2011-11-12] Justin "Little" Louder: This company keeps getting better It's a little clunky but I'm sure it will be improved and streamlined very soon. This is one of the best companies for textbooks and they listen. |
[2011-11-09] Rian: Needs a LOT of improvement. I hate the pages being saved to my photo gallery and no bookmark feature. Very annoying. Please fix for 5 stars. |
[2011-11-08] Tim: Good but could use a bit of a refresh. Works well on my nook just wish it had higher resolution for the text and swiping to change pages would be nice. Half the price for books this semester makes it worth it. |
[2011-11-04] Mac: Just what i needed |
[2011-10-24] Hannah: Needs work Recently it crashes more often than it works, very aggravating. |
[2011-10-24] Tyler Hampton: Sloppy, cut-rate app that's sub-par. I have virtually no money. When I heard that I could rent an e-textbook for a fraction of the price of physical textbooks, I was ecstatic. But, be warned, this app is just poor quality - especially when compared to what they did for the iPad. It lacks many, many crucial features such as chapter caching and highlighting and it isn't optimized for tablets. I'm probably not going to be using their service next quarter. |
[2011-10-18] the 10/21/2011 It works, but it saves too many images in your photo gallery. Pretty annoying, and it doesn't seem necessary. I wish there was a way to undo that. |
[2011-10-17] Anonymous: OK. Needs work. |
[2011-10-15] Nicholas: Could be better Some pages load while others don't. Definitely could use highlight and a real page turn feature |
[2011-10-12] julia: ... ... Auto format The same as looking at the internet it should flow to your screen! |
[2011-10-11] Alyeene: Ok It is almost as good as it's computer version. But needs highlight ability and bookmark function to get 5 stars |
[2011-10-07] Erica: Put some effort into it Will be five stars when it resembles the ipad app. This android version pales in comparison. |
[2011-10-06] Lavette: Would be better if you could read the books offline. |
[2011-10-05] Carrtel: Decent app but... Every time you go to a new page, it saves an image of that page I'm your phone gallery? Too much of a hassle. |
[2011-10-05] Justin: Sucks Give me an app that acts and looks more like the iPad version put some effort in it and maybe also allow it to share the screen with some other apps or allow you to also take notes alongside reading material because otherwise this is useless |
[2011-09-29] Krishna: Facebook connect! How in the world do you sign in with facebook connect... i made my account originally from desktop version signing up with the facebook connect option |
[2011-09-20] the 9/20/2011 Works well but. . . A little slow downloading each new page. Otherwise a helpful app. When do you think a tts engine will be included? |
[2011-09-15] elizabeth: Does what it needs to The app is good for a starter but needs improving. The content page should include chapters like the website does and text needs to shrink to fit phone |
[2011-09-15] Shawnboy: Good app, but missing features available on iPad I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The app displays the text very nicely in either viewing mode. However, the lack of highlight is a huge disappointment, especially considering the iPad has this capability. I will also have occasional problems switching wifi locations. The cache/data will become corrupted and will not show certain, random pages. Clearing the data fixes the issue, but annoying nonetheless. Waiting for version 2.0 with baited breath! |
[2011-09-13] Tiffany: Ummm Would be nicer if keywords were darkened like the book shows. |
[2011-09-12] Joseph: Alright app Sometimes books dont load but works well everything is available |
[2011-09-12] Cody: Needs new interface. Gets the job done. The zoom system isn't very nice. Should pinch the text like some readers do. Otherwise would be 5 stars. |
[2011-09-07] BIMBO: Nur Ok |
[2011-09-06] Humberto: Great!!!!! |
[2011-09-05] Kenny: First time user |
[2011-09-03] Harvey: What's the point? Great app, until you walk away from a wifi hotspot. Too bad I can't pick up my college's wifi signal in my classrooms, or I'd buy all my books this app. Lucky if you have 3G, but for us poor kids kicking it with just wifi, we're S.O.L. |
[2011-08-31] Oscar: Now lists my school Just earlier in the week my school didn't show up (J. Sargeant Reynolds). Checked today and surprise surprise it now shows up!MIUI NC Tmobile. |
[2011-08-31] Ildiko: Cannot highlight Please make the highlight feature available for this app! Otherwise, really like it |
[2011-08-25] Player-X: Needs work It's usable on my phone but the interface needs work and it zooms slightly too far in for text |
[2011-08-25] Juan: Poor Nice suppourts xoom but its not hd plz make it better really poor graphics |
[2011-08-24] kOoLaiDe: Love Coursesmart, Hate App The phone app for reading is poor. No auto-format when zooming in; so reading via phone almost impossible. Will rate higher if this is addressed. |
[2011-08-13] Naturally: The Best!!!! Just put it this way... I saved $200 because of this a and and the load is much less heavy walking across campus for four class... |
[2011-08-07] Jessica: Great except it saves the pages to my pictures! I don't know if I missed something with this app but every time i read a chapter or even just browse through it, it saves every page I look at to my phones picture gallery, which then I have to delete and then it messes up the book? Now maybe its supposed to do this but i'm pretty sure its not. Other then that I love it. Just need to fix those bugs!!!! |
[2011-07-31] Nathan: Coursesmart might as well be committing suicide by ignoring the issues with this app. |
[2011-07-30] Peter: Not yet worth it It's for a phone, not a tablet. NEEDS to let chapter be downloaded for use in class. Want pen support for HTC flyer. |
[2011-07-23] Jeff: No Offline Access & Poor UI This is useless without offline access (which the ipad version does have). Also, the UI is not Honeycomb aware - it's just a phone app that happens to look a little better on a larger screen. Very poor implementation all around. |
[2011-07-20] Damon: Does not work on my Honeycomb 3.1 tablet The screen says to press the Menu button to get the Store option. I do not have a Menu button! I sent feedback to Coursesmart but never received a response. |
[2011-07-19] lora: It's a good app but it would be a great app if I could highlight parts of the book. |
[2011-07-14] aaliyah: It doesnt get any better than THIS!!! The integration of technology and higher education is SO worth the small nuisances that come along with the territory! I heart getting my books via etextbook and being able to use my iPod or EVO and study when im away. I can highlight sections, use virtual sticky notes....nothing less than if I had to lug my textbooks around!! Until Pre-med, I will be using coursesmart! |
[2011-07-11] Eric: Works flawlessly on my Epic 4G. Very convenient and a must if you use the ebook service |
[2011-07-08] paola: Keeps force closing! This app is useless |
[2011-07-07] Eric: WAY TOO SMALL!!!! Needs to have different font options. I have perfect vision and I can barely read it unless I hold my phone 3 inches from my face. Disappointing to say the least. |
[2011-06-28] Adeline: Doesn't open, forces close. Xperia |
[2011-06-27] Rhonda: Ever since I downloaded this app, this barely works and the online version barely works. I thought that this would be more convenient. I was wrong. |
[2011-06-13] David: Great app. Works great on my thunderbolt! |
[2011-06-07] Robert: Great idea!!!! Poor execution, after pages are read the come back up as small question marks. Need refresh button. |
[2011-06-07] s_chan7: Poor reading experience. Does not reformat the text to fit on a small screen. |
[2011-06-02] the 6/3/2011 : Need to have text wrap and font control features. |
[2011-05-30] Sunay: A Great App!! This app is amazing in a way that eTextbooks should be, Mobile. The notes feature and the sync function between all platforms works great as well.. |
[2011-05-29] j: HONEYCOMB SUPPORT ASAP PLEASE!!!!!!!! |
[2011-05-23] the 5/26/2011 Honeycomb and Read-Offline I would love to see a honeycomb version of this app and have them add the read-offline feature to let you check out 3 chapters at a time to the device. This would be huge for in-class work when wifi is not available as well as page loading speeds. Otherwise this is a good first step. |
[2011-05-21] Darius: Good start. Best viewed in landscape mode. Could use more resizing options. Also, text to speech support would be awesome. |
[2011-05-19] Dres G.: Finally Could use some work, but its a start. Slow over 3G. Its about time! |
[2011-05-06] Erk: Change log please |
[2011-05-03] Tina Greaves Lancaster: Not there yet. Can't pinch to reduce page. |
[2011-05-03] Sung-Hwan: Useless. Keep getting "connection failed....." error message. I was looking forward to having this app in android. So disappointed..... |
[2011-05-03] Samuel: Please add the option to log in from my facebook account. I cant access my books without it. |
[2011-04-30] Jeremy: Terrible. Crashes whenever I open a chapter. In addition, it has a very clumsy interface; so when of does work it is not easy to use. Amateur at best. |
[2011-04-27] Mauro: Perfect I got a xoom earlier and I used my calculus book using the browser, not it's even easier to reference it and use it in class! works very nice in honeycomb |
[2011-04-27] Nicvaroce: Thank you! It's faster and better than the website, even if it's not yet perfect. |
[2011-04-24] canislucidus: Awesome Pretty slick for version 1.0, thank you from creating an Android version I've been waiting for this for a while. |
[2011-04-22] Matthew: Finally coursesmart went in the right direction and put this app on android. Love it! |
[2011-04-22] Phil: Man, I would have loved to have had this for undergrad or grad school. |
[2011-04-20] leia: So far So good :))))) I have been awaiting the app for Android users, and it is finally here...for someone on the go and being a full time student with a job this is a MUST, thanks Course Smart! |
