Please READ following completely!

* This Widget connect to a Cisco VPN Server (PIX/ASA/...) or a Fritzbox by a single click on rooted Android 2.x devices.

For Android 4+ you better use VpnCilla - it is more stable, no root is required and has more features.

* VPN Widget won't work unless...
- You have a routed (jailbreaked, unlocked) phone
- TUN device available in kernel (CONFIG_TUN=y)
- App installed on the phones internal memory (not on SD - Widgets require this)
- Placed it on homescreen as widget (not as app)
- 'Superuser' rights granted on request

* Forget it, if all this sounds scary - VPNC Widget just won't work!!

* Installation and trouble shooting:
- Install VPNC Widget on homescreen as Widget - not as App!
- Doubleclick widget to change preferences and checking prerequisites of phone (if doubleclick doesn't work, start Vpnc Widget as an App)
- Give "Superuser" rights on request (start Superuser app to verify and use newest Superuser App in case of troubles)
- Never use automatic Taskkillers (it will interrupt the vpnc service!)
- If nothing helps, activate the Debug Flag in the preferences screen and mail me after a trying to connect the session logfile:
/data/data/com.gmail.mjm4456.vpncwidget/cache/vpnc.log

* Restrictions/Issues:
- Supports Pre-Shared-Key (PSK) only (no SSL certificates)
- supports only one user/server profile
- profile credentials incl. passwords are stored at the phone (but hidden for apps without root access)
- if the "advanced routing" kernel feature is unavailable, the VPN connection may be lost when the WiFi hotspot renews DHCP info (you can re-connect by clicking Widget twice)

Works most of the time Running on Epic 4G with CM9 (ICS).... Connects to Cisco ASA/PIX IPSEC. It works most of the time. Some times Android says it crashes, but it keeps running. And it's free. Use VpnCilla if you want a better full VPN client.

One Click to Connect My office uses Cisco IPsec based VPN. This widget works very well. One click activates the VPN, a second deactivates it. My only issue with it is that I use multiple VPNs, and this app only stores one. If I want to use VPN "B", but was previously using VPN "A", I must edit the setup and replace the VPN "A" settings with the VPN "B" settings. That, of course, does take more than one click. Still, this is my favorite VPN app, and it crashes less than Get A Robot VPN Connections. Also, please keep in mind that initial setup can be cumbersome. You will need Root, TUN support, OpenVPN, and Busybox properly configured before you can use this widget.

I have installed the app, checked if it would work (rooted, so yes), configured my settings in the preferences - but I cannot find the widget to start the VPN connection... I have installed/removed the app several times, but no widget appearing :( Edit: ok, that was a noob question... just press and hold the screen for a while, and widgets can be inserted :)

Finally, A VPN Solution for Cisco networks... ... that isn't from Cisco! I You must have a root-enabled device and the tun.ko module that is compiled for your device and firmware. I have successfully used this solution for my Asus TF201 tablet. It works perfectly.

Champ! Took me a bit to get the settings from my IT guys but after that it worked like a champ. Easy to configure. Quick to connect...connects faster than my Cisco client on Windows. Highly recommend! (Boo for anyone who scores this low because they haven't figured out how to root.)
