= Définition =

Qu’est-ce qu’un « Animal domestique en droit français ? »
Un animal domestique est un animal appartenant à « une espèce qui a fait l’objet d’une pression de sélection continue et constante (c'est-à-dire qui a fait l'objet d'une domestication). Ceci a permis la formation d’un groupe d’animaux qui a acquis des caractères stables, génétiquement héritables ». Cette définition est en réalité déduite du code de l'environnement qui dit le contraire pour les espèces animales non domestiques.
