[2013-09-01] A Google User: Very Disappointed. Don't waste your time on this one! When I first installed this it ran great. I love the desktop version. But this is nothing like it. Sometimes I have trouble signing in (can be very slow). Also, when I change the settings they don't even update. I lose messages all the time. I don't receive them and they dont send. Honestly, I expect more from Trillian. I am disappointed. Lacks common features. No recent updates! C'mon! |
[2013-08-31] A Google User: Needs attention I've been using Trillian for so many years I can't remember what it is like to have 4 different IM chat programs running... the android version is hurting... desktop version works still but in today's world you've got to be focusing on mobile devices. I regret having to rate this under 5 stars... but accounts won't stay logged in, it says they are logged in but aren't, and the lack of updates makes me wonder about the future of this app. |
[2013-08-30] A Google User: No update no skype Make pls skype and tablet better version. Look please imo. Long time no any update. Now use imo. |
[2013-08-30] A Google User: Outdated To freaking expensive. Don't buy it it's massively overpriced. And there is hardly any development for this app. |
[2013-08-28] A Google User: Old Used to be good, now seems neglected |
[2013-08-27] A Google User: Crappy Needs to add Skype support for Android, and stop restarting and running in the background after I kill it. |
[2013-08-27] A Google User: Dead Application Seriously disappointed with this application. Even with a lifetime license, I've found this to be the poorest if all multi IM applications. Looks horrible, crashes, freezes, lacks the new features most other applications provide. |
[2013-08-25] A Google User: Android part has problems I have used this app & the matching PC version for years. They used to take care of "bugs/problems" quickly. Several weeks ago, the android version will not login to my Windows Live account. I listed this on their forums, along with others, no response. |
[2013-08-24] A Google User: Good for facebook Good app |
[2013-08-23] A Google User: Old feel, from froyo I liked a lot the app in the times I had android 2.2, but it seems that there's no future for this :( So sad. |
[2013-08-20] A Google User: Slows down phone. As soon as I stopped Trillian from running constantly, my phone felt like new again. What's the point of an IM program if you can't keep it running? Go ahead, I'll wait. |
[2013-08-20] A Google User: Once good. Now unreliable. Like most of the recent reviews. I use to love this app. But lately it had not been sending, or receiving messages. Crashes a lot. And has become very unreliable. Looking for a new messager now. |
[2013-08-19] A Google User: Themes Would be 5 stars if you could use themes. I do like the ability of syncronized chat so I can chat away from my computer and not be lost. It was worth buying since paying once allows you ad-free and cloud logs on other platforms. |
[2013-08-19] A Google User: I love it but needs to be developed again |
[2013-08-18] A Google User: Shows persistent notification icon on Android 4.3 Needs to be fixed ASAP |
[2013-08-17] A Google User: Good app but Very basic user interface and still unable to connect my yahoo account. No help at all from the trillian team. Developers need to spend some quality time ... The app deserve 5 star but for the outdated UI & bad and no support, I've rated ☆☆. |
[2013-08-16] A Google User: Memory hog I hate to pile on, given all the bad reviews lately, but I have started looking for an alternative. I only connect to a GTalk account, but I have found the app using over 400mb RAM. That's a bit much for me. |
[2013-08-16] A Google User: downhill I do like the idea of having all my txt accounts in one app. But Trillian is not keeping up with app development and not providing a Tablet app is not very good for something I payed for. Still like the desktop one, but without the mobile app getting some love I might jump ship. |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: Yahoo messenger not working! Cannot connect to yahoo messenger accounts. |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: No longer works Latest update causes nothing to come through unless you bring app to focus which defeats the whole purpose. HTC rezound |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: Not functional anymore, won't connect... It really pangs me to say this, as I have been a user of Trillian since version 0.6, and have paid for the Pro version over the years, but I am just about ready to uninstall it from my phone, as it is useless now. The only service that reliably connects, is AIM, and off and on, Yahoo. It will not connect to any other service anymore, despite it saying that it is connected (the exception being MSN, as it was discontinued). None of my contacts show up on the supposedly *connected* services, and I cannot receive messages except for AIM or Yahoo. Facebook has been extremely spotty for months, Myspace has been spotty longer, and even Astra won't connect. As I use Linux & Android exclusively now, Trillian is a loss for me, and I am actively looking for another client to serve my needs... To the people complaining about the design layout being out of date, the layout is just fine, I don't have a problem with it, I just want the app to function, which it no longer does... I really hope that an update will come about to address the issues, but I feel that I will have found a replacement app long before it gets sorted. I won't recommend it to anyone anymore, as I have done for years... |
[2013-08-13] A Google User: Nice but... We need a tablet version |
[2013-08-13] A Google User: Was my fave, now outdated and too expensive Was my fave all in one messenger due to its relative light weight and non-battery suck. bugs: no longer downloads FB contact avatars, but otherwise stable. Wish it had chat logging. Even just being able to see a contacts previous few KB of chats would be so helpful. Update: they added logging via a $20 yearly subscription which is a patently ridiculous pricing structure. Better to have charged $4.99 one time. IM pro is a better cheaper app. |
[2013-08-12] A Google User: Please develop This app makes us independent of Facebook yahoo Google or any of the big guys... But development needs to continue.. Please keep going... |
[2013-08-12] A Google User: MSN protocol no longer works on Android. Support ignores emails and online posts. |
[2013-08-12] A Google User: Working fine for me Uses low ram. Thanks. |
[2013-08-09] A Google User: Not worth it Zombie app of a once superb poly-IM program, It's a shame Trillian has ended up so neglected. |
[2013-08-09] A Google User: Not kept up to date This app was an excellent tool. However, recently it is freezing or closing without notice. Unless it is fixed I will be using another tool. |
[2013-08-06] A Google User: Not working Get connected to facebook or msn but show all my contacts are offline. |
[2013-08-05] A Google User: disappointed i luv this app on my laptop n had high hopes for my mobile too...but d google account is not getting syncronised.. d only reason i use is to login to multiple accounts at same time....i hope d google bug gets fixed next time. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Dying on the vine Fair IM app. Decent features. Simple interface. Needs a few more options, like auto sign-in and the ability to 'disable' certain accounts. MSN has stopped working, despite that the PC version still works just fine. Doubt we'll ever see this app updated, has been a very long time. Which is a shame; back in the day, it was great. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: I love this app but It needs skype support on it, i love it but I hate haveing skype open at the same time it drains my battery much faster than I'd like, would happily give 5 stars with Skype support |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: what happened?! Great concept, but something went wrong. Used to be flawless, but now chats don't sync across devices and windows live / Skype accounts simply won't connect reliably. I am one of the poor saps who paid for this days before you made it free, and now it's mostly useless to me. Fix it pleeeease! I have proper pro membership and get nothing out of it. So disappointing. |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Only miss skype |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Clean and functional Great app, would like a smoother or fresher interface, but other than that works a charm |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: The sync feature with the desktop Trillian client makes this a one-of-a-kind IM ... Edit: For more than a year now, accounts randomly disconnect but you don't know it, then you see them reconnect (sometimes) when you open the app. Leads to missed IMs without realizing it. They don't actively develop this anymore, I'm sorry to say. The sync feature with the desktop Trillian client makes this a one-of-a-kind IM client for MSN/AIM/Facebook/Jabber users. Use battery save option. |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Update? Needs an update. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Worked until last update Worked until last update and now I just get a systray password error and no way to resolve the issue. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Needs updating but better than hangouts. Ok i always liked talk better than the mobile client and I think this client needs updating but when compared to hangouts this is awesome. Note I am a desktop client user and have used it for years. |
[2013-07-21] A Google User: Dont bother... The beauty of trillian was that you had a master login and no matter what device you were on it would pre load all accounts ie yahoo, aim etc.....well not on the andrloid version. No matter what I try to do I cannot add them. Thank the gods for my iphone version. |
[2013-07-18] A Google User: Could be so much better I love trillian but this app is basic, stripped down, looks terrible and doesn't feel anywhere near as good to use as the iphone version. Will this ever be properly worked on or has the project been abandoned aside from collecting fees? |
[2013-07-18] A Google User: Welcome back The latest desktop version seems to have fixed all the issues with the sync. It's properly syncing now. I had to change the port number to 443 on the desktop version though. Thanks for the update. One star less because of the lack of updates on android version. |
[2013-07-17] A Google User: Please add... Can we have a notification for an individual contact that comes online! |
[2013-07-14] A Google User: Eh it's ok I'm upset with this app because it doesn't have the feature to check your emails like the desktop version does but other than that it's a good app. |
[2013-07-12] A Google User: OK, I guess It works great, has all the main IM services. For me, the only thing really missing is IRC support (: |
[2013-07-09] A Google User: Win Love it wish it would always show history Very unstable lately |
[2013-07-08] A Google User: Great but.. Recently all of my accounts show as connected but all contacts are offline. I can message them but I only receive my msgs if I open the app. Is there a fix for this? |
[2013-07-06] A Google User: Excellent Best Messaging Application! !! |
[2013-07-05] A Google User: Works amazingly well. Incredibly Dated. While I love this app, the graphics are severely dated, and the UI is vastly in need of an overhaul. |
[2013-07-03] A Google User: Using it for years Over various platforms, I think it's the best option it there |
[2013-07-03] A Google User: Nice n slick Light on RAM |
[2013-07-01] A Google User: . Not surprisingly, this app is essentially dead. It still works, but it's leagues behind in functionality and features where it used to lead. Sad to see it go, but it seems the developers have given up on this one. |
[2013-06-27] A Google User: Using in desktop at home and office. Its awesome. Like this one |
[2013-06-27] A Google User: update? love version 2 on ios so much.. not this. update plz.. |
[2013-06-26] A Google User: Development is dead. Move on. Development is dead look elsewhere. I've been a loyal Trillian user since 2001, but I've given up on this company. I know they are a small team, but at this stage that is no excuse for horrible mismanagement. Luckily for me most of my contacts use Google Hangouts (formerly Talk) and with the latest update it too supports concurrent IM sessions across devices. It's not perfect, but miles ahead of this app that was last updated for GINGERBREAD. |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: New gtalk stinks And doesn't work well with this app. Misses messages all of the time. Time to stop using gtalk |
[2013-06-24] A Google User: Themes This app would be awesome if I could change the color scheme. I can't use things with black backgrounds and white text. |
[2013-06-24] A Google User: Absolutely terrible. I have been a Trillian user for ten years now. Each year they disappoint me more. Missed messages. Failed synchronization. Snarky support. Slow updates. Time to move on. Adios. |
[2013-06-23] A Google User: One big problem: It is constantly putting me in away mode. Having the app always running and connected is pointless if I always appear away. Needs an option to disable this "feature". |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: Sign out barely works 5-6 times I have to back out of app, re-open, go to menu, more and try and tap sign out...and most of the time I get no response. Seriously irritating, and no way to report the issue in the app either. |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: Awesome Good program |
[2013-06-20] A Google User: No better IM client than Trillian I've been using trillian for a little over 10 years as it's the best IM client out there. I've tried Pidgin and all the others, but they can't compete with this one! |
[2013-06-20] A Google User: Seriously needs to be updated. The UI is extremely dated and clunky. The service is unreliable. Sometimes messages take hours to send/receive and I have to resort to Official apps (Facebook Messenger etc.), then the messages are received twice, and not synced with my desktop Trillian. The PC version is amazing, and I would be willing to pay for Pro if the mobile app was maintained equally. |
[2013-06-20] A Google User: Yahoo doesn't connect... The desktop version is good, the Android version doesn't want to connect to yahoo and to Google.. annoying.. |
[2013-06-17] A Google User: Unusful There is not option to add accounts?!?!?!? I cannot use it. I like how it works on my windows PC. |
[2013-06-16] A Google User: Problem with Yahoo Accounts One of my favorite im apps on desktop, but its somehow buggy on android. My Yahoo! accounts wont connect and not all online friends in Facebook shows up. I logged on on both desktop and mobile just to confirm this. Sighs.. hope they fix it soon, its been months from what other users said. |
[2013-06-13] A Google User: Works great Trillian works great, unifying several networks and synching your history across all of your devices. But! It was designed to end the 2000s messenger madness, and stopped there. Thanks to lacking development, it sits next to Whatsapp, Skype, Vibr, SMS as one more texting app instead of ruling them all. It is basically a container for legacy networks, which is a terrible pity. Get your act together, dudes! Trillian is dying!!! |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Barely update The ui is dated and seems barely supported. |
[2013-06-08] A Google User: Buggy on S4 My google contacts who are "away" appear in Trillian, but those who are "online" do not. |
[2013-06-08] A Google User: No Skype No Stars I paid for the app back before it was free. Paid for LIFETIME subscription to Astra for pc and yet despite other app(s) having Skype they have turned a loyal customer away due to failed integration of Skype. Sticking with IM+ Pro until further notice. |
[2013-06-06] A Google User: In Desperate Need of a UI Update The core chat functionality of the app still works great, but the app is in desperate need of a refresh to bring it up to modern UI standards, both in appearance and in usability. |
[2013-06-05] A Google User: Samsung Galaxy S3 Excellent app. Feature request: 1. Skype integration 2. Able to be started on boot 3. Able to be themed 4. Able to find possible new contacts from contact list Also to help encourage new features, the next time there is an update for the android app, I will be buying a lifetime subscription |
[2013-06-03] A Google User: Simple. Dull. Barely any options. No notification settings per user. Instead of looking original, like the old Windows Trillian theme, it looks uninspired and copies the iPhone text messaging look with those bubbles. Awkward smiley popup that doesn't even have all the trillian smileys. Nothing feels Trillian about this. Registering in app was very buggy, said username was taken (tried many), had to resort to computer browser which worked with same username. |
[2013-05-31] A Google User: Not a review, just an opinion, and a negative one. I don't hold my opinions in such high regard that I call my opinions on things, "reviews". All I do is give my opinion of something with my limited experience and exposure to such things. This being the case, the Trillian Android application for smartphones. In a simple word, broken. On my first install, when it asked me for a new login name, I tried three. Each, it told me, was taken. I then setup the program on my laptop, and the very first login name I had tried on my phone (which was then denied), worked perfectly. Once setup proper on my laptop I proceeded to set it up once again on my phone (Galaxy S2). After my correctly existing account had been set up on my laptop, it then told me my signin password for Trillian was wrong on my phone, which I confirmed it was actually right on my laptop. Right, so for the actual desktop/laptop computers, Trillian works just fine. On mobile devices (at least my own), not at all. I'd give this application zero stars if I could, but since it requires at least a 1 out of 5, that's what it receives. |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Not as good as desctop version I use it everyday on my pc, but on android it seems to have some serious connection problems. Not all accounts could be connected. |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Ewww Embrace holo already! |
[2013-05-27] A Google User: Rather good But who can tell me how to connect to Y!M over trillian on my phone? |
[2013-05-27] A Google User: Hmmm... There really should be a way to block messages from anyone not on friends list. I keep getting messages from random bots(?) where the message is just a bunch of jumbled letters and numbers. This gets really annoying. |
[2013-05-25] A Google User: Same problems as in windows and more still I downloaded this because it promised skype connectivity on their site, came recommended and because imo won't connect anymore. Not only does it not even allow me to connect to skype in any shape or form but it still has some of the same problems that plaugued it before i left it on windows. Namely, not even sending im's to people when it doesn't feel like it and acting like it did. I'm quickly running out of options here. |
[2013-05-25] A Google User: Excellent Excellent app |
[2013-05-24] A Google User: Great App in One I am avid user of this App... i am really appreciated the same use like desktop. i sent and receive fast. please create more delightful skins or themes. but 5star for the developer. great |
[2013-05-23] A Google User: Doesn't work Signs me out of aim, facebook and gmail. Won't let me sign back in. Last update messed it up... won't send messages at all now... |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: Good client, with limitations I like this client, generally. It does exactly what I want it to and does it easily. And I use it enough that I'm OK paying a monthly for it. I'm frustrated that it won't support Skype like the desktop version will, though. Are they ever gonna add that feature? |
[2013-05-21] A Google User: Needs update The actual chat mechanics are great. Chats are remembered and synced across devices and desktop seamlessly, but the UI could do with an update. A tablet version is especially in need as so much screen realestate is wasted. Multi window support would be even better. |
[2013-05-20] A Google User: Unhappy Nice UI but constant connectivity issues. Bug with chat bubbles disappearing and then reappearing after hiding keyboard. :-( |
[2013-05-19] A Google User: Silly, but a good app. I do like this app and ive been using it almost 3 years now, but a few months ago it wwent nuts, and I couldn't sign into my accounts. So, I started using another app and then today I wanted to see if you guys updated it a bit, and i guess you did. I can sign into my accounts again. I like the layout of this app, its not too much, its just right. I also like the fact I can see if any of my friends came off, and what time they went off. Its makes sense. I just you guys keep it up, please keep updating it. Its your baby, and mine ha. |
[2013-05-19] A Google User: Dead. Do not use. No longer actively developed. No tablet support. Chat bubbles are ugly. No way to group multiple contacts for the same person. No way to use multiple Astra accounts simultaneously. No chat logging. No Skype. Looks dated on Android 4.x, really needs an update. I'm removing stars regularly; this is practically abandonware, and I paid for it when it wasn't free. |
[2013-05-18] A Google User: Needs tablet UI Please, I`m a premium buyer, let us know when you plan implementing a tablet interface. This is a must. |
[2013-05-17] A Google User: Unimpressed by future plans They will not pledge themselves to developing a modern version of the app with ICS features. It works great right now, but looses stars for the lack of any indication of a tablet friendly application. |
[2013-05-17] A Google User: Used the desktop for years. I have used the desktop client for many years and the android version for 2 years. Since the last update it is nearly unusable due to the fact that it won't stay open in the background for more than a couple of minutes. No amount of playing with the settings seems to do much. I may have to abandon both clients now as there is no point in using my Astra account if I can't talk with those contacts on the go. Fix this or you'll lose roughly 7 customers when I switch as they will likely follow me. |
[2013-05-16] A Google User: Can't Add MSN account, keeps crashing. Should import my linked accounts automatically.ebuddy for me. |
[2013-05-15] A Google User: Used to be great I use AIM and trillian does a great job on the desktop and this app. As of late, trillian just dies silently. It used to stay up and connected much better before. |
[2013-05-13] A Google User: THE IM CLIENT. Keeps me online from PC to phone and back. Trillian is very sleek! The dark theme is perfect for battery life in LED displays and it's very well done. Update: sadly usefulness fell badly, now I use only Facebook for IMs and Trillian doesn't offer anything better than the FB app other than being able to chat using the Enter key & the tabs. Uninstalled ultimately due to lack of updates. I was one of the folks that happily paid to support the developers back then. |
[2013-05-13] A Google User: A bit outdated Does what it ought to do well, but it could use a refresh by now. |
[2013-05-12] A Google User: Battary hog and generally unusable Drains battary in record time and sometimes just stops working stating none of my gtalk contacts are online; at the same time i am happily chatting away with those contacts on the gtalk app. The only good thing about this was the ability to copy/paste from a chat but due to not working reliably it is going to be uninstalled. |
[2013-05-09] A Google User: Outdated Used to be best app. No longer works on HTC desire s. Support has not responded after two months |
[2013-05-08] A Google User: Lackluster Needs live messenger connection fixed, never connects. Needs Skype integration to compete with other platforms. If they could make this version more like the desktop app it would be much better. |
[2013-05-08] A Google User: best best ever app |
[2013-05-07] A Google User: Great app. Just like on the computer! I swear by this app on my phone and computer. This is the only messensing app that I will ever use. And Pro for $12 a year is so worth it. |
[2013-05-06] A Google User: Broken Every aspect of this app is now broken and unusable. |
