Talk lets you convert text to voice using the Text-to-speech engine on your smartphone.

It allows importing web pages directly from the browser to listen to them. You can also import selected text from other apps.

Features:

-Play/Pause/Stop
-Lots of languages (internet connection required for some)

Make your phone say anything you want in many languages!

NOTE: Your phone must have a Text-to-Speech enginge for Talk to work. If it doesn't have it you can download it from Google Play. Depending on the TTS engine, some languages that appear in the app may not work.

Helpful if you lose your voice I used this for a few days when I completely lost my voice due to laryngitis. Sure, you sound like Stephen Hawking and everyone will laugh, but that's actually kinda fun. It did help me get some key points across at some work meetings.

Works great I have laryngitis. Hurts to try to talk and then no one can hear me. But with this I have a voice. I just wish I could put some preset things in here that I might say frequently.

To Many Permissions! Uninstalling due to the added permissions. Why are so many developers going the data mining route when they themselves would never use an app with these permissions is beyond me. They should just make a payed version, then they would make more money then this intrusive ad-bassed stuff and not lose potential customers that don't like the added permissions and loss of privacy they bring.

Fails on device rotation Needs to better handle device rotation. Right now, it seems to restart the app completely upon rotation. It asks me again to choose which speech playback app to use upon rotation. The developer should fix this or just disable rotation during playback until it's fixed. Otherwise, the developer has been great and very responsive at implementing suggestions and improving the app. Great work! This seems to be the best app of its kind. I'll update my review to five stars once the serious rotation bug is fixed or worked around. Another feature suggestion: This could prove quite difficult; but if you could implement an intent so that we could "share" a webpage from the Android browser to this app and have it automatically retrieve the webpage's text into the dialog box and start reading it, that would be awesome.

Beautiful but lacks important features :( This app is a simple tts app, by simple I mean it doesn't allow you to save what you paste as a Wav file. It doesn't allow for auto continuous playback of what you pasted and it doesn't allow for pitch and speed manipulation of voice. Now for the pros: It has a wide open modern clean user interface which is perfect for being able to see everything you typed inside as opposed to other similar apps who make you squeeze your text into a tiny input text box. It also has a auto correct feature for mispelled text. with that said, now you have a better picture of what this app can do for you and can't. 5 stars because it was beautiful and didn't cause problems, tho I'm no to sure what I'll use it for.......................................I really wanted it to have the ability to save text output as a Audio Wav file. Updated 11.18.12 Really like this app will change to 4 to 5 stars once I can open it. Unfortunately I updated and now cannot open. Uninstalled and re-installed but same thing. You fixed it. Thanks. That was quick. Note: it would be terrific if you could find a way to give us the options to save files in folders for later reading. Terrific app. Keeps getting better.

Simple and easy to use application A must have app for ur android device. I am using it on my QMobile Noir A2 (1GHz version) without any problem. Just type the text or copy the text from sms or office files or web browser and paste into its textbox and press "Talk" button. U can change the speed of speech as well.

Does not work The only way it works is if you paste text into it and then click the "Talk" button. Clicking the settings button causes the app to crash. Also, it won't let you type text on the screen. I tried several times, and somehow it opens the Google search box at the top left of the home screen on my tablet. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and the same problems happen.
