great Great little app, but: 1) it shows (malformed) ipv6 address in settings, but ipv4 is easier to remember AND it works 2) like someone mentioned, it should show ip(v4) address when service started 3) it should show (permanent) notification while service is running Therefore, 4 stars from me. Fix these little issues and it'll be 5!

Very good app Although there are minor things to improve like fail over when posting to an http address while your internet is broken. It should detect if posting failed then send an error message to someone. Https support would also be nice!! But then again, thank you so much... very useful app..

pretty great, just one flaw... I wanted to be able to use my android to send SMSs for monitoring my home network. SMS gateway does the job - a simple 'wget' (or even nc) will do it with http->sms setup - and soon I hope to have the droid trigger its own SMSs as well (extra monitoring). That's pretty fantastic, and makes me happy! The only thing keeping this review from being 5 stars - there are no logs of SMSs being sent. Not in the regular SMS view, and not in SMS Gateway's own log either!

Simple to use, but does its work This is an application that doesn't require to setup complex things but allows to easily setup a sms <-> web gateway. One minor improvement would be a notification icon signaling that it's running, as well as the option to work only on some SMS based on the first word of the message.

Fantasic app, just what my brother needed Been looking for an app like this for a while, my brother regularly needs to send hundreds of texts for his partners slimming group, with his old Nokia 5800 & PC Suite he could import and send them. With this he can send them directly from his Access database using HTTP. For those that wanted to know how to use the http to send, it's very simple from your browser. First off go into the app settings, tick the check box for 'Listen for HTTP send commands', then scroll down to and click HTTP settings. At the bottom of the page it tells you what to type into your browser address bar to send a text message, for example http://phones IP address:9090/sendsms?phone=nnnnnnnnnn&text=hello world Where nnnnnnnnnn = the phone number, and if you entered a password in the setup you would add &password= followed by the password. Sending them from a program using HTTP is rather more complicated, but is something my brother knows how to do. One thing that would be useful to add is the ability to include multiple phone numbers, for instance in the email they could all be separated by a ; and whatever method HTTP requires. For this it would be useful to specify how the app sends messages.

Works great, not with MIUI This app worked great, just like it should, until I moved to MIUI ROM. I have no idea why, but it doesn't do anything when I get a message anymore. If anybody knows a fix for this, please let me know! I'll definitely get the donate version if I can get this to work.

Excelente! A única aplicação do género que consegui encontrar.Gateway nos dois sentidos, testei pop3, SMTP e HTTP, Impecável. Muito estavel, está a reenviar + de 2000 mensagens por dia, em cada um sentidos, desde Janeiro de 2012. sem alguma vez ter crashado. O resultado é tão satisfatório que comprei a recente versão DONATE. Há que reconhecer o trabalho quando bem feito! Parabéns

Sounds good but I cannot connect... please help This app sounds extremely cool. I downloaded it and no matter what I try I cannot connect to gmail pop3 server !! I have entered the correct information over and over again. I installed a mail client (inomail lite)just to check my connection information and it connects no problem. Whenever I start the application, then I check my log, and I get "Error acessing POP3: connect failed". This is driving me crazy. I am using a Sony Xerpia Ray on 3g network running android 2+ (not sure what version) . If anyone else has had the same problem or has any idea how to fix this please let me know. I would love to get this app working. Cheers. (I would love to give this a higher star rating, but I just cant get it to work, and I cant find any documentation, or Tech support at all)

Messages twice sent Hi all. The app is really great but i am getting strange behaviour on tattoo w android 1.6. When url for sending messages is typed in browser the message get sent twice. Same happane when i run my custom java appa hwith http client call from code. Thanks

Excellent application. I am using the email to sms feature Very useful particularly for server error messages. However, most of the messages are 160 characters and for some reason are not being sent. When I send a message that is 140 or less it works perfectly any message that is 141+ will never be sent. Anyone else seeing this? I am running on Android 2.3. I would give it a 5 if I could send 160 characters.

Not bad, but needs to obey delivery report setting My SGS2 is set to *not* request delivery reports, but this app requests them anyway. It costs me 5 cents per sms and I send about 650 per month. The other improvement could be to change pop polling depending on time of day.

This works fine for me after I put in a dummy password (my SMTP server doesn't need one, so I just put "foo"). If it's not working for you, try that.
