[2012-09-28] Eric: very smooth via 3G 5star |
[2012-09-27] A: waste of time PROS: "free", if you don't value your time CONS: 1) if you have more than one account on your phone, it will select only the 1st one, whether or not it has google voice linked. There is no way around it in the app. The only option is to remove that account from your phone. 2) Can not register because of constant timeouts. The website is no use either. Even though they send you a confirmation email that account has been created at PBXes, there is no way to log in - "Incorrect user / password". . Etc., etc, etc. |
[2012-09-22] Dan: Terrible Does not ask to sync to Google voice on startup |
[2012-09-19] Ryan: Great app I was having trouble with groove ip lite kept droping my calls after 8 minutes this one doesn't drop your calls and the echo isnt that bad and once u download the pc app you get your calls on pc love this app so far so good also there's a video you can google how to set it up only took me 15 min to set up after watching the video I saw other reviews how it took them an hr or few hrs to set up but the video goes step by step wish I had the link I forgot u should find it on you tube |
[2012-09-18] Guardian: Good but not great It's very ugly but functional. Got it working with our voip system but calling externally didn't work. Only internal extensions worked. |
[2012-09-13] big soccer: Very good in the world Most best voip for Droid Confirmed |
[2012-09-09] silent: great call quality when using google voice pros: call quailty and easy install just make sure you have google voice app installed on your phone, you select the option to link your google voice to the pbx service. Enter your google voice password in the sipdroid app when prompted. cons: ui could use some work. hardware led notifications not support but led indicator stays in your notification tray. Also if you don't update your profile online with the pbx website they will remove your account. |
[2012-09-07] hmn: Excellent Sipdroid integrates very well. It uses the phone's native dialer, call log, and phone book. Make sure you configure the right audio codec supported by your sip provider. It works very well with airplane mode (wifi on) which saves battery. There is also an option in Sipdroid's settings to control WiFi and further save battery. ICS has built in sip support but it does not work in airplane mode which drained the battery. I highly recommend Sipdroid. |
[2012-09-06] Diam: Simple and easy Nice sip client. Works well in most cases. Nice to have 729, also dialing not very user friendly |
[2012-09-06] aberean: It works, but complicated. Have to enter info on website to keep account open past a month. Done this 3 times now and still deletes account. Just found talk atone and it it easy to use, mostly integrated with phone and acts like a normal part of the phone with text msg included and more. Sorry but done with sipdroid. |
[2012-09-03] the 9/4/2012 : Just Great Love it,, just what I wanted calls in, calls out nice |
[2012-09-02] Chad: Horrible Horrible time trying to setup. Not worth it, not user friendly. |
[2012-08-25] Adriaan: Retart Hello my name is Sergey and I have a retardation. I have been living under ground for 78 years and never heard of Skype. |
[2012-08-24] timoun: Zte blade ics Works well! |
[2012-08-23] DayTripper Diva: Okay I finally got it After hearing about the blessings of SIPdroid, I downloaded it and finally figured out how to install after about 2 hours of trial, error, and research. Could the instructions and error messages be any tinier or more cryptic? Works great now though. We'll see how long until telecoms shut it down! |
[2012-08-20] dodtsair: Unable to connect Error message is in obvious" time out" |
[2012-08-19] Nate: Works Works better than all that I've tried. I can receive calls as a remote extension. |
[2012-08-16] NelsonBig: So far so good If you want ONLY VoIP on your device, make sure you deselect everything but Google Chat on your GV Online Settings AND choose SipDroid Only in your SipDroid Settings on your device. |
[2012-08-11] juan: Good Good can be much better and ui friendly. |
[2012-08-10] Belinda: Rubbish Not even one star,,, no instruction on how to use it A waste of time |
[2012-08-10] Горан: Echo Echo on the other side... |
[2012-08-08] Afolabi : Sipdroid sucks |
[2012-08-07] George: Excellent & easy to set up Nexus S jelly beans, easy to setup. Great sound quality. Doesn't degrade battery life. |
[2012-08-04] b177y: True VOIP Great when used with Google Voice! |
[2012-08-02] Rich: Amazing quality, simple setup! If you already use Google Voice, this should take less than 5 minutes to set up. Call quality is excellent on my wifi network. Great solution for poor indoor phone reception! |
[2012-08-02] Jimmy: Sooo close yet sooo far I'd like to give this 5 stars, but I cannot. I definitely prefer Sipdroid over the others available, but most people don't speak nerd. Took me a few hours to get this working and I am a nerd. When it is working, I really like it. I just had to reinstall most of my apps including this one. So, I copied down all my config settings for this to make it easier to reinstall (didn't wanna spend another few hours with this), but... Yep, not that simple. And I still haven't gotten in back online. Developers, you've almost nailed it. It's sooooo close.... yet sooo far. Groove is a snap to setup. That's what you should be going for. |
[2012-08-01] Jeno: Ok Ok |
[2012-07-31] S: Doesn't work This app need a lot of improvements. I installed on CM9 with Galaxy S2 (T-mobile USA). Setup with VOIP wass tricky, didn't always work way it should. When trying to make call, status goes from connected to registering all the time, if lucky can be connected to calling party once in while. It also uses lot of battery switching all time between connected and registering status, when you not using it. |
[2012-07-31] Jonny: Very impressed Works great on Xperia Pro. Only took 10 mins to setup Sipgate account. |
[2012-07-26] dennis: postman worked okay the first day, worked less time then, often the second day and the third day I could not get a connected phone call. I only get a phone call in progress and after a minute the call end without being connected. When I try to call my phone from another phone I never get a response after a minute it goes to my Google voicemail . If Sipdroid worked sometime, I would give it a 5 star rating because I like the concept. |
[2012-07-22] Tathagat: What the hell What the hell it does not work in ics 4.0.3 micromax funbook.its a waste of time.even if you are in India. |
[2012-07-22] antonio: Sometimish Work real good when I first installed this app but not too long after it refused to connect and no longer made a phone call sadley |
[2012-07-21] Will: Good app It works great with the galaxy nexus and Google voice, the audio quality is impressive at 4G,but after upgrade to Jellybean the caller's name is not displayed correctly, it is just my Google voice number. Hopefully this will get fixed soon! |
[2012-07-18] MasterMindInvestment: Simply the best VOIP/SIP client. I've tried many but this is the only app that works great with Google voice and very easy to set up. |
[2012-07-15] David: Wooo Awesome and free! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
[2012-07-14] B. Aaron: Poor app Outgoing calls are great, but incoming calls I never get them and I've used this since my g1, eco and now my s2... I wish they had a reconnect interval that update the time every 30 minutes to a hour. |
[2012-07-12] Ahmad Mayahi: Very bad Very bad |
[2012-07-11] MsBridget: MsBridget Love it so far! |
[2012-07-10] Starling: Sipdroid Really great app |
[2012-07-07] Frank: Galaxy Nexus is an unlocked GSM phone ICS 4.04 Great price on Nexus at Google Play. I just bought at Google Play. The Galaxy Nexus is an unlocked GSM phone with ICS 4.04 and sipdroid works perfect. Make sure you load gmail account right after start up, Also after that make sure you load the Voice App. and then you can download Sipdroid. and a link on the bottom of sip says new pbx or pbxes account. You must click on that so it is automatic set up. Sipdriod works Perfect. You must have a Gmail email and add Google talk Mail and Voice. And you get the free calls off WiFi for sure. I dont know yet if it works off 3g yet. I will be testing it on 3G and data usage. Hope this helps. |
[2012-07-06] Raúl: Incredible with PBXes. The best option to VoIP if you are a PBXes user. |
[2012-07-06] Petr: Vodafone 858 Huawei |
[2012-07-04] Killian: Complicated... Tried to figure it out for a couple hours, just go with groove IP lite. |
[2012-06-30] Seth: Awesome must have |
[2012-06-30] Himanshu: Poor performance - nexus one Bad sound quality and frequently disconnects. It was great until 2 years back. Now I prefer csipsimple over sipdroid. |
[2012-06-27] Jimmy: BEST APP ON ANDROID This app enables me to use my phone over wifi and to call home when I am out of the country. Its the most important app that I have on my phone. |
[2012-06-25] t0Okie: custom ringtones Good app! Calls clear with no voice delay (if set up right). Just needs to have default or customized contact ringtones and it will be better than groove ip |
[2012-06-23] shannon: Help Just stopped working all together. When making calls it gets hung on dialing and won't receive calls either |
[2012-06-21] Michael: Great Nice app that helps a lot in a house not covered very well by cell signals(by calling over wifi). Needs better noise cancellation for speakers. Many carriers and ISPs have started interference to the sip/rtp protocol. Works seamlessly over a free vpn(other than pbxes time limited one) as now both my home and mobile ISP block sip. Sound quality over Bluetooth and wired headset is top notch! |
[2012-06-19] Antonio: Still having issues on ICS Before that it was the best ever! Please fix. Galaxy Nexus |
[2012-06-18] oscar: Nada Nada |
[2012-06-18] Konchog: Fix echo please... I love the Google voice integrating |
[2012-06-16] Sunil: It is not automatically connect to edge It cannect to edge when disconnected from wifi i have to go to the setting and remark the edge option then it connect. Please solve this. Other wise it is the best |
[2012-06-14] mikepoage: Better than Groove IP I had the paid version if Groove IP on my phone for several months, linked through my google voice number. There was always a terrible lag. With Sipdroid there is none of that. And it's free! If you can handle the tiny inconvenience of setting up pbx account, this is the way to go for no-phone-plan cell calls over wifi. |
[2012-06-14] Kevin: Sweet Integration with google voice is awesome. |
[2012-06-14] Saby: Very good for android After upgradation, i didn'get call connectivity tone nor hear anything after call is connected.need some fix urgently..thx |
[2012-06-12] skywalker6705: Handles the backend SIPdroid prefers to setup using pbxes to manage the inbound/outbound calling. At first I was horrified at the prospect of setting this up, but they automate the process in the app. You give them the account info so they can fwd it to the right addresses, etc, and it sets up a pbxes account with your google infomation. Near as I understand, this works by placing calls in the SIP protocol, and using pbxes to convert them to jabber and work with Google Talk. This allows you to make outbound calls similar to how you can do it from gmail. If you look around in the pbxes dash, you can see what the SIPdroid app has autopopulated, and why it requires the info it does. Overally, the GUI may not be fantastic, but the app is quick, responsive, and does an incredible job facilitating this for users new to VoIP. |
[2012-06-12] Arkum: F**k Talkatone!!! **UPDATED REVIEW** Forgot the password. Had to uninstall. :-( |
[2012-06-10] Mohammad: Good integration Lack of g729 support robs it of two stars. With 3g being so unstable, it's is very tedious to run VoIP on ulaw alaw. The low bandwidth usage of g729 is a must ! Why not install the open source version ? |
[2012-06-08] Chris: Doesn't work!! Boo |
[2012-06-04] Jerold: Worst app Freakin suks |
[2012-06-04] Angee: Ugh... No suitable data network available |
[2012-06-02] x: ughhhhh i have multiple google accts, the one this app is selecting to register with does not have a google voice #, wont allow me to select which acct |
[2012-05-31] JC: Okay It's difficult to use on PMP's and tablets without a dialer. Sometimes it does strange things, like muting outgoing audio, while allowing incoming audio. I like the app, but there is a lot of room for improvement. |
[2012-05-30] Blake: Works great This VoIP works great! It needs a new UI though its ugly! Works with HTC Inc Cyanogenmod 9 (ICS 4.0.4) Support higher resolution needed. Fix slight echo. |
[2012-05-29] Logan: BEST VoIP app so far! Hands down the best VoIP app I have found for Android. It installs so simple and integrates seamlessly in to the stock dialer and call logs, which is a HUGE plus in my book! And it has a slick look during a call. And best of all it uses Google Voice so there is no cost anywhere! And the voice quality is way better than any other app that uses Google Voice, TRUE HD audio! Between this app, a GV account and the GV (txt) app I can effectively use tMobiles $30 prepaid plan for unlimited EVERYTHING at 4G. Finally a cheep Smartphone Set Up! |
[2012-05-28] Kurt: Worked for two calls Then stopped. Un installed, failed. |
[2012-05-27] the 5/27/2012 so Not work with Oppo Find 3 |
[2012-05-26] Bret: Used this app for a few years. Drains battery if you use it a lot. I found this program most useful when you can't get coverage but you can get wifi coverage. |
[2012-05-26] pali: . Perfektna aplikacia, integrovane do telefonu, da sa vyberat ci volam zo sip alebo telefon, pri slabom signale seka hovor |
[2012-05-25] Carlos: Nice app Love it |
[2012-05-25] Jörg: has come a long way... is now better than the native client. Using it with sipgate.de. |
[2012-05-24] Brandon: Best SIP app for GV!!!! Easy to setup requires Google password. Works great be sure to update your account on their site to avoid deletion. If you don't know what you're doing DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Those giving this app 1 star because you're an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing is misleading others... |
[2012-05-22] A Switfy Ninja: Echo I love this application. It works and sounds great on my end. However every caller complains about an echo, they hear everything they are saying back over their headset. Settings adjustment does not fix this! |
[2012-05-22] frax: Works with some flaws It's doing it's job, but have some flaws that are really annoying or worse. The currently most serious one is that when hooked up as an extension on my local PBX (FreeSwitch) it "steals" incoming calls. I.e. even if it just rings, and have not been picked up, it tells the PBX that it has the call, hence dropping the other extensions, making them unable to answer the call. |
[2012-05-22] sVo: Needs alot of improvement Very unfriendly setup menu - i spent 1 hour to make it work... ish... After that I realised you can only use it to make phone-calls... if you also want to receive... you will need google voice (that works in USA only) and some other app - can't remember the name... as I read on some forums... So, if you like spending time configuring stuff... it can be fun... otherwise it's just a waste of time (if you are not in USA). |
[2012-05-22] Cakes n: Perfect |
[2012-05-22] the 5/23/2012 Does what it should And even more. |
[2012-05-21] Dr Sami: Good application Good But still needs more work |
[2012-05-21] txkman: does its job does its job. bad ui. hope to see changes. |
[2012-05-14] Ilya: Don't work Don't work with ZebraTelecom.ru and my HTC Incredible S. |
[2012-05-13] dkscomputer: Needs Bluetooth Bluetooth support not working on galaxy s2 |
[2012-05-12] Atilla: "no suitable data network available" error. Unusable, uninstalled. |
[2012-05-09] brokentapedeck: Stopped working Stopped working after the update wont dial out or.receive calls. |
[2012-05-08] Turner's Trucking: Turner Very good app |
[2012-05-08] Aiesha: Spotty & unreliable I've been trying to use it the past week & it's not connecting my calls. Very spotty at best & mostly unreliable. Uninstalled. Switch to Talkatone. We'll see if that works better. |
[2012-05-07] Chris: Illest Sweet |
[2012-05-04] Chris: Couldn't get past the registration The initial setup was missing the pbxes toolbar. I tried to reinstall it 4 times, but couldn't ever get ti to register |
[2012-05-04] Matt: great, but camera? This is great on my Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 However, for the life of me, i can not make a simple video call. Audio is fine but it seems like it never detects the camera on either device, it acts like it tries but simply shows a black screen where the video should be. That's a let down. |
[2012-05-04] Scott: Still has ICS issue on Galaxy Nexus 1/4 screen! No ability to figure out what version this is. |
[2012-05-03] Damaso: Hooray Yay |
[2012-05-02] Ramiro: Nice very nice Love it |
[2012-05-02] Ricardo S: Great and simple app Even better, it's open source!!!! |
[2012-04-30] Jonathan: Awesome No major issues, even good sound quality on an older device. |
[2012-04-30] Simon: Excellent Sip droid is by far the best sip client for android. Causes wifi connection issues on sgs2, otherwise 100% |
[2012-04-29] Ankit: Crap |
[2010-10-01] Yoni: How to I use video? Where can I set a proxy? |
[2010-10-01] Daniel: Works great. But why does a sip app require GPS permission? |
[2010-09-30] Rob: No sound for desire. |
[2010-09-30] Andrey: Video not work on Galaxy S,but fine work on galaxy i5500 |
