OpenVPN Installer (v. 0.2.5) Разработано Friedrich Schäuffelhut |
You need a root device the tun/tap driver and busybox.
OpenVPN Installer will try to install openvpn (2.1.1) in /system/xbin or /system/bin. Your mileage might vary depending on your phone.
Androids ifconfig implementation fails to configure the tunnel device correctly. So you need ifconfig provided by busybox. Try a BusyBox Installer from the market.
The path to ifconfig is a compile time option to openvpn and can not be changed at runtime. This installer includes multiple binaries with preconfigured ifconfig locations.
The preferred way to install openvpn is to put busybox at /system/xbin/busybox and then choose openvpn preconfigured for '/system/xbin/busybox ifconfig'.
Finally /system/xbin/bb is not needed anymore! I hope this update makes live easier for some of you.

|
[2012-12-26] A Google User: works well once you get it configured to get this to work on my GNote2 (android 4.1.1) I had to put busybox (well, a link) in /system/xbin, and make a "cp" link to to busybox because the installer couldn't copy the binary! After that everything fine. It previously worked well with various ROMs on MyTouch4GSlide. I accepted the defaults for the installing, specifying xbin as target folder. |

[2012-07-29] paul.mansfield: works well once you get it configured works well with Virtuous Inquisition ROM on MyTouch4GSlide. I accepted the defaults for the installing, specifying xbin as target folder. Turn up debugging on the config and ensure you set it to write to a log file and a status file, like this: log /mnt/sdcard/openvpn/openvpn.log status /mnt/sdcard/openvpn/openvpn.status |

I use it to connect into work for mobile users, logging into us via the OpenVPN that is provided free on QNAP NAS's. The Qnap provides the config file and cert in a handy download and it works every time. Not much else to say really. |

On the galaxy s2 with the default ROM I installed the openvpn binary to /system/bin/openvpn and then selected the /system/bin/ifconfig option as the recommended option didn't work (not the developer's fault) Hope that can be of use to someone. |
