Droid Beacon allows you to maintain a list of users who will be able to send a special text message (password) to your phone which will in turn send back your phones current location.  Now you can create an email containing a link to Google maps which will show your location (when email was created) to allow your friends to find you.   Works great if camping or in a neighborhood you’re not familiar with to allow them to find you without having to give directions.

When an incoming text message is received the program will lookup that phone number and password, if found the application will behave as follows:
•Initiate GPS and get current location.
•Convert latitude and longitude to friendly street name
•Send the Street name via text message back to the requesting users.
•Disable GPS

Since the current location is sent back via text message any phone capable of sending and receiving a text message can interface with this program

The GPS will only be initiated and then disabled when a valid incoming text message is received, saving battery life.

This app adds support for Client Certificate Authentication to Exchange ActiveSync accounts, supporting email, native calendar and native contacts synchronization.

If you just stumbled upon this app while browsing the Android Market, chances are that you don't need it. It provides a very specific functionality with a very narrow focus and is not of use to a wide audience.

This app is repackaged from the CyanogenMod 6.1 Email app to install and work on non-rooted phones and not conflict with the stock Email. It is primarily intended to help with EAS accounts with two-way SSL requirements, a feature which has been previously contributed to CyanogenMod as well. Any further improvements of general interest will also be contributed back to CM.

This app is best suit for mobile tracking, ensure kids safety and safety reporting.

1. At least turn on "Use Wireless Network" for location tracking.
2. Turn on GPS for better tracking.
3. Internet Access needed to get your current address.
4. This app requires Google Maps installed.
5. If you lost your phone, you can SMS word 'zentrack' to your phone for requesting its' current location after installing this app from Google Play portal.

Focustrate for Android allows you to text without looking at your phone. Its uses voice recognition and text to speech technologies that are part of the Android operating system.

To use simply click to select the contact by pressing the button. To text the contact press the button again. The voice recognition system will listen to you. After that it will read back what it thought you said - it gets it wrong sometimes (to a hilarious degree at times). You have four seconds to cancel it before its sent out. Also, any texts received by the contact will be read to you via text to speech.

Broadcast SMS is the fastest group messaging app on the market!  Why do I say this?  Because the first screen you see displays your groups.  Choose a group.  The next screen you see is the SMS entry screen.  Type your message and hit send!  Short of a completely customized app that would send to only the same group every time I’m getting it done it 2-clicks plus your message text.  I’ve found I do almost as much group texting as I do single recipient texting.  Having an app that can group text quickly became a must, but I didn’t like all the extra clicks it takes to get it done in most apps.

Broadcast SMS is not intended to replace your SMS messaging app.  It’s not intended to handle your contact or group management.  There are lots of apps better suited for those purposes.  What Broadcast SMS does is get your message to your pre-defined groups very efficiently.

Want to see what’s going on tonight?  Group text all your friends in 2 clicks.  Want to update a group of family members that you’ve arrived safely after a flight?  Blast text message to them in 2 clicks.  Need to tell your team at work you’re running last?  Broadcast a SMS message to them in just 2 clicks!

Broadcast SMS was originally written as a sales leads messaging tool for a Realtor based out of NY.  It still functions very well in that capacity as it will read an input file stored on your SD card and send a bulk text message to each phone number it parses from the file.  I started out using Broadcast SMS to group text my kids, my friends and my family.  I did so by creating 3 separate input files with their numbers.  That just wasn’t practical though.  So, I modified the app to use your pre-defined Google Contact or Phone Groups.  Setup a group by logging into Gmail and working with your contacts.

Why Broadcast SMS?  Because it’s the fastest tool to get my message to a group of people!  It was never intended to be the soup-to-nuts of SMS apps.  I like the pure utility of it.  It’s single purposed and as a result requires far less code.  Less code means it’s easier to maintain and should have fewer bugs ;)

You can send up to 100 messages per hour in Android from any application.  That’s the other beauty of a utilitarian design!  You send out the initial blast but all the responses come in to your regular SMS messaging app!  As you reply to people you’ve consumed none of that app’s hourly allotment.
