FolderSync is a application that enables simple sync to cloud based storage to and from local folders on the device memory card. It currently support multiple SkyDrive, Dropbox, SugarSync, Ubuntu One, Box.net, LiveDrive, HiDrive, NetDocuments, Amazon S3, FTP, FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV or windows share (Samba/CIFS) accounts, and support for more platforms are planned.

Effortlessly sync your files. Backup your music, pictures and other important files from the phone to your cloud storage or the other way around. It has never been easier. Tasker / locale support enables fine grained control of your syncs.

FolderSync also contains a full file manager, that enables you to manage your files locally and in the cloud. Copy, move and delete your files in your cloud/remote accounts. Support for creation/deletion of buckets in Amazon S3. Upload and download files from the phone. It's all supported.

You could also try out the lite version, so you can test functionality before you buy.

Detailed description:

You can choose any folder on the memory card to sync. Currently one-way and two-way sync are supported. Sync intervals and other sync settings can be specified for each sync item you configure. You set up a folderpair to sync and it will automatically keep your files in sync.

To enable deletions in two-way sync, the option “Preserve target” must be unchecked

Almost perfect With a WebDAV-enabled host, I was able to create my own version of Dropbox, and use Foldersync to keep all that stuff, well, synced. Easy to use, slight learning curve, and does what it's supposed to. Only nit is lack of support for writing to an external card (SD or USB) on Honeycomb. I would prefer to synch my stuff to that external memory, but FolderSync doesn't (yet?) support it. If and when it does, bump this to five stars. :)

Adequate for small set of unimportant files. Fast and convenient. Unfortunately tends to delete files for no reason. Also redownloads the same unchanged media files over and over again.

Great support helped me out I had issues with FolderSync because i had no browser installed on my mobile phone which causes FolderSync to crash trying to add a Dropbox account. The support helped me within a hour. FolderSync works great now with one exception: In a two-way sync, empty folders (which have been deleted on mobile device or PC) will be re-created after every sync. The only way to get rid of these empty folders, is to delete it on both devices. I made a feature request to Tacit Dynamics by email and hope they will take account of this issue.

Great Great App! Hope the developer will continue to support it. I only have 2 requests: 1) clone "folderpairs" so you can create similar jobs but which differ in some small way and 2) that users be allowed to upload certain things to certain folders all in one job. For example, if a file is named X, upload it to folder Y in Dropbox. If file is named A, upload it to folder B. (both in one sync session) I know you can accomplish this using multiple jobs (i.e. "folderpairs) which are scheduled at the same time, but I would like to be able to sort this all in one session, rather than creating separate jobs. Foldersync is the kind of utility that gives you a good reason to go Android: more control over your smartphone experience.

Worth the upgrade, because this is pro quality! Same as nata.loko, I got the free one then upgraded right away. Even though the free version does everything I need now, the paid version lets me add any of my cloud accounts or even use Amazon's servers or my web server as secure cloud storage, and I can automate it all with Tasker! Best of all, this doesn't sit around taking up RAM and CPU cycles when it's not needed. Worth it to support another good developer! Note to Michael Best: it *does* keep your settings on the upgrade if you back them up first!

Excellent App! As a nurse and instructor, use my tablet all the time for files I create at home to sync via my personal cloud drive to my tablet at school or hospital. Some other sync options were OK, but why pay $$ for extra GB storage when I already have a 3 TB device @ home? This app allows my tab and my phone to auto-sync folders from my cloud device @ home to my tab & back automatically - and doesn't keep using resources! Worth the upgrade to pro! Thanks!

Good feature set ! Some features I appreciate a lot: (1) two-way file sync with proper file deletion handling (this seems to be rare feature), (2) a nice set of connection options (I use SFTP to synchronize my desktop with my tablet), (3) can be autostarted from Llama (location automation application similar to Tasker with somewhat better location definition support). So far, I can only report perfect experience !

Better and better. The FolderSync/S3 combination is fantastic. I've a network drive on my PC to the S3 bucket that FolderSync backs up my entire SD Card to. I daily back up the entire SD Card (one way sync) and hourly back up the My Documents folder (two way sync). This is a must have app! Dev is extremely responsive to questions and development is very active. Sync takes place with screen off just fine on my device and two way sync works well.
