[2013-09-04] A Google User: HTC one Does not work on mac. Java issue I think. |
[2013-09-02] A Google User: No longer working Once a useful product, support has now stopped for long enough that it simply doesn't work. Now using Mighty Text instead. |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: Flawed Purchased the donate version from the site a few months ago. Tried installing on a new phone (with new laptop). The link in the app for the download points to a forced donation page (I'm using the donate version, wtf?). The help link doesn't work at all. This app is for all intents and purposes broken. |
[2013-07-10] A Google User: Was good, but it's now non-working and unsupported This app was great. It didn't have the nicest interface in the world but I found it to work solidly and without hassle. Unfortunately it appears not to function with more recent Android versions (>4.2), just throwing exception errors on my Galaxy S2 and S4. There are bug reports going back a few months about this issue on the developer's website with no response. Looks like this app is now abandonware. |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Please, more JB support Hello. First of all: Merry Xmas. :) I just installed on Galaxy S3 (4.1.2) and have some troubles. I assume, compatibility issues... No thread view... When I send the SMS, get Java errors... Please, review it... |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: Not So Easy SMS! Bought it but I am disappointed to find it is non-friendly GUI interface; it is bland web interface where you have to manually type URL every time to get it loaded, long-winded for me to set up and configure for BOTH ends. Not very user-friendly. You need to be an Android-geeky-nerd to use it. It works after downloading and installing Android SDK ADB tools (and where you have to manually load ADB drivers via DOS command prompt every time; AND the Android SDK's ADB usb drivers HAVE MOVED to a new location - thank you very much for not letting me know!). And it doesn't sync very well. I best go back and stick with SMS Control Center - much much much much easier! It works but not to the minds of no-brainers! |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Great idea, but very abandoned application The idea is great, but its a shame the development is stucked. The GUI design is very old-school, slow updates (refresing the whole content, not just the changes. It was my first purchased application on Android market, but now I am disappointed with the missing "development". Sorry to write that, but I recommend a better free alternative: WebControl tablet and pc sms (also allowing incoming connections from public internet (3G, etc)). |

[2012-08-01] A Google User: Project seems to abandoned, breaks on Galaxy S3 :( I LOVED this app when it worked. It was by far the best app for sending & receiving txts from a browser. It wasn't the prettiest to look at but just worked so well. Unfortunately it now appears to be abandoned by the developer and so I have to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 1. The app is broken on the Galaxy S3 so I can no longer use it. :( Bug requests have gone unanswered for months in the bug tracker. I've emailed the developer personally and have received no response. I really hope that the developer will get back on board with an update or release the source code so that someone else can take over. My strong recommendation is this: Try the free version and see if it still works for you. Don't buy the paid version unless you are sure it works and you accept that there may never be any new updates or bug fixes. Here is my original review (I hope I can reinstate again soon if an update is released): "The GUI could look nicer and be a bit faster by making use of AJAX. Apart from that EasySMS is an absolutely outstanding app which makes sending and receiving txts from any browser over a WiFi connection an absolute breeze. I highly, highly recommend this app!" |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: works loading is kinda slow, but if you want something simple that works, this is it, hopefully the long time since last update is because the dev is planning a huge ui overhaul and major performance upgrade |
[2012-06-19] A Google User: Fantastic |
[2012-06-07] A Google User: Does exactly what it promised Amazingly easy to use (Samsung Galaxy S2) with no frills interface. Great performance too. Compares very favourably against Kies which is no longer available to me on Cyanogen 9. |
[2012-04-24] A Google User: Useless. Simply does not work. Timeouts and dropped pages. Frustrating and awful. Wastes time again and again. I really mean it does not work. |
[2012-04-21] A Google User: Too Complex For somebody without a good understanding of SMS, forget it. Help files are poor and there's no wizard. I used a similar application and all I needed to do was press a button and it connected to my PC after I typed in my web address. Easy. |
[2012-02-23] A Google User: Great app - but sms have started failing on HTC We've got two HTC EVO 3D phones here, both of us are on Tesco (which uses O2). From today, the message has an envelope and a clock which looks like it's pending, but in fact if you select "message details" it says "failed". If I copy and paste the text from the phone into another message and send it directly from the phone, it works. Using v1.6.2 donate version on Android 2.3.4, HTC Sense version 3.0 Logged it with the dev too, hoping it can get fixed. Thanks! |
[2012-02-10] A Google User: Not reliable enough Apps works, but randomly updates some of the history not all of it and sometimes does not connect to pc. |
[2012-01-29] A Google User: Excellent app! I've tried most of the other PC-SMS apps but this one wins easily. Easy installation, no annoying sign-ups or badly coded chrome/FF extensions. I had some issues with messages stuck on "Queued" but alt-send solved it. I also think the GUI works fine, no unnecessary bloat and very clear. Good luck in the competition, you're definitely in the top! |
[2012-01-12] A Google User: terrible icon The app is nice but please add a setting to hide that terrible status bar icon! |
[2011-11-16] A Google User: Works well |
[2011-10-26] A Google User: Good, but slow development A *really* good product. But development seems to have stopped. It would be nice if the web interface used DIVs and AJAX instead of iframes and reloading all text messages every time you send a new text. Things like that should help speed it up a bit. |
[2011-10-09] A Google User: Great but contacts bug ... Not all contacts showing up in browser when choosing to compose a message |
[2011-08-31] A Google User: This is the best desktop SMS app I have used. It requires good IT knowledge to get some of the more "specialist" features to work particularly adb. |
[2011-08-30] A Google User: Works as described. An easy way to sms from a computer or tablet. |
[2011-08-30] A Google User: . @Keith - works perfectly on G2x running Gingerbread. Seamless integration into my home network. Pin a tab in your desktop browser and you're set. |
[2011-08-30] A Google User: Nice try Tom. Bottom line is that the problem was fixed by the same party that should have been more diligent before releasing an update. Updates are pirated? I can use the free version, but can't get an update for my paid version even from the Market place that indicates that it's purch |
[2011-07-28] A Google User: DeskSMS ist auch sehr gut |
[2011-07-15] A Google User: Exactly what I wanted Developer has made exactly what I wanted, and the support via website is at least average if not above average. Been using this for a week now, and all the functionality I want is there, with even some perks. Have had no issues with weird orderings, or wrong pictures; everything has worked flawlessly. |
[2011-06-29] A Google User: Works perfectly on my cm7 desire. Thanks for a fantastic app. |
[2011-06-20] A Google User: Works perfectly. The interface is somewhat bland, but I really don't care. I'm not going to give you 4 stars and promise a 5-star review if you change something. You've made an awesome, functional product and I thank you for it. |
[2011-06-13] A Google User: Awesome.. almost, the PC and phone interfaces could use some improvement |
[2011-06-10] A Google User: Excellent app Does as it says and great that it doesn't need extra software other than web browser on PC. However, pages doesn't seem to auto update but that's not to much of an issue for me as phone still tells me I have a message. |
[2011-06-08] A Google User: Awesome! Works great, but I would really appreciate a more Web 2.0 look, if not a dark theme would come in handy for late night texting. |
[2011-06-04] A Google User: Works as advertised. It would 5 stars if you could change the number or use text as sent from. Instead of your number showing up it could be whatever |
[2011-04-30] A Google User: This doesn't update at all. All the settings are there and it seems easy enough to use but half of them don't work or act sporadically. |

[2011-02-23] Durand: Great app! Donate version seems to load a lot faster here. |

[2011-02-19] A Google User: A better interface for the web app would be great, but apart from that this works brilliantly |
[2011-02-19] Peachy: A better interface for the web app would be great, but apart from that this works brilliantly |
[2011-02-10] A Google User: Great App Don't listen to the users that gave this a poor review, there is some manual configuration to set this up the way you like it, and some people are too lazy to read instructions on their website. Autoupdate DOES work, there are NOT ads in the paid version, and there is a great support section on the dev's website, unlike others have said. Totally worth the $2.77 paid. |

[2011-02-08] A Google User: Functionality wise, this app is excellent. It could really do with an overhaul of the web interface though. Some ajax would go down nicely. |
[2011-02-08] A Google User: Great concept, horrid execution Useless as it stands. Thread sorting does not work, web GUI needs to be written in a modern language. Autoupdate does not work on paid version. messages within threads do not sort properly...all mine on top, all recipients on bottom. Texdro is a much better solution. I regret buying this application. |

[2011-01-09] A Google User: Yes, you can stop the service by pressing stop in the app... also, developer wants you to use issue tracker on website. Average app, missing widget. |
[2011-01-09] A Google User: Works. The app and webpage would deserve a nicer and more user-friendly UI. Wrong contact pics displayed. Strange conversations ordering. |
