Though a large number of you prefer a higher, one time price: that is not a viable option for me, as there are significant, recurring, server costs. And though a one time price would be easier for all parties, it is not a financial gamble that I can make. New users will receive a 14 day trial; after which it is $4.99 for a one year license. If you are familiar with my other apps (like ROM Manager, 3+ million downloads), you know that I take pride in my work, and only release quality products and keep them up to date. DeskSMS forwards your text (and MMS!) messages to your GMail, Google Chat, and DeskSMS Chrome extension! And if you reply back, the recipient gets a text from your number!

You can use your favorite IM client (Beejive, Trillian, etc) or email client to send text messages from your phone number!

Download DeskSMS on your phone, and then use your an IM or email client from your PC or tablet to send text messages!

Step 1) Install DeskSMS on your *phone*.
Step 2) Install a chat client or use gmail on your desktop PC or tablet (like a XOOM)
Step 3) Have a friend send you an SMS, and respond from your desktop PC or tablet!

Almost The chrome extension doesn't have notifications for some reason, even though the website does. And the notifications from the site aren't customizable, so I either get the full message text or no notification. Would be nice if I could hide the text and just see the sender (like MightText). Also, the response text box is one line only and scrolls off the side, which makes it difficult to write long messages.

Good beta, but far from finished Good idea, but the following has to be fixed - Updates too slow. Texty and others are much quicker - Deletes messages drafts if you click another place. Drafts should be saved on the messenger app - Contacts sync is not optimal - Did not work on IE8 * There should be an option that DeskSMS would clone the messenger app, so you would get old messages.

Great app, contact name annoyance Works as expected. I may just replace my default sms app with this and Gtalk. I wish the contact name came up in Gtalk instead of just the number. I can never tell who is texting me. Also I have yet to try any MMS messages.

Was good - now doesn't work So I get SMS messages on phone, and the test message shows up as SMS.. But messages are not getting through on my Google talk account anymore.. Perhaps google is blocking? The contacts are still in my IM, but they just show nothing.. I can send messages out through google talk, but nothing is coming in.

Amazing I loved it and went ahead and purchased the 1yr license for $5. The app is a must have if you own a tablet or if you are on the computer a lot. It allows you to send/receive texts from your phone via gmail/chrome/gtalk

Awesome app, Extremely good service! This is a great app and the developer is awesome! I started having issues with the app and notified the developer and he replied really fast and jumped right on it to fix the problem, which he did and everything is back up and running smooth. No complaints here. Would purchase again in a heartbeat! Makes texting from your PC really convenient! Developer updates frequently making it better everyday!

Nearly Indispensible When it works, it's perfect. And I find I can't live without it anymore. But lately I've had trouble with texts being sent to Google. I'm always able to sent out, but without the inbound text I don't have complete transcripts. Also, there's nothing free about it. You'll have to buy a subscription after a short trial. It's worth it when it works. But it's pretty temperamental on my Evo 3D. Once the bugs are all out this is a 5-star app. But too many bugs to rate it so highly today.

great app. would personally never pay more than 1$ Koush, you I believe you deserve compensation for your hard and fantastic work HOWEVER, I would personally NEVER pay subscription fees for any app. Furthermore I would not pay any more than 1$ for an app of this nature. its convenient to have my sms's fwd'ed but id rather just encourage my friends to use google talk or groupme rather than paying this much to have their sms's converted for me. tl;dr great app, will not pay more than 1$ one time fee for this

Weird issues... I've tested this app today, and am having some weird issues - one, some messages never reach their recipient, and two, I don't receive all messages. I'm using the HandCent SMS-app on my Android, and have tried different things, like using the app to send msgs, or just using the Firefox extension etc. Sometimes they come through, sometimes they don't. The app also seems to be suffering a bit from wait-times - SMS is supposed to be instant, and, well... it's definitely not right now.

Fantastic Couple it with a Tasker profile to auto-clear unread SMS and this app rocks. The website and Firefox plugin sometimes lag behind my phone for a few minutes but they (usually) even out. I'm on day 2 but it looks like I'll be buying a year's worth soon.

Disappointed :( I installed DeskSMS and all I have after is only mess... To be honest the software never started, always reminded me to install on my Android, but I had it installed... And the mess is in my Google Contacts where every item got 'PHONE@desksms.appspotmail.com' field and I don't know how to clean it automatically...
