Chikka Text Messenger for Android allows you to text your friends and loved ones in the Philippines for FREE! Just download the app so you can take Chikka with you wherever you go.

You can register using your Philippine mobile number to start texting for free and get your friends’ replies directly on your phone when you go offline. If you don’t have a Philippine mobile number or you are in another country, you can opt to create a non-mobile Chikka account by registering using your email.

Chikka also runs compatibly on your Google Chrome browser and other iOS devices.

Good app! The app does what it says, but sometimes the recipient receives automated messages without receiving my message. Also takes 2.50php per reply, not 0.50php

Not sooo reliable.. Limiting Well, sometimes we have issues that people don't not receive our texts. Also, it limits the amount of texts you can send to a person, if they don't text you back on that chikka number. That causes a problem, a big problem. Once you send a few texts to that number, without them responding to any of your texts on that number, you are blocked from sending more. Yes, it's to make sure no one is assaulting anyone with texts if that other person doesn't want to receive texts, but still... It's a huge pain.

Not useful any more Chikka disconnects constantly on my Samsung S2. Sent in a trouble ticket. Here is their response: we have checked the status of chikka text messenger via Android app and found out it is working fine. Please try logging in again your account and password at chikka. Duh! That was the only way I could connect again. Pretty lame if you ask me.
