Pros and Cons for Samsung Galaxy S Good for messaging, great for meeting up with friends. But there's no option to edit venue on Android version (vs iPhone which can edit). Moreover, it is lagging at times (vs whatsapp), and the maps is not very accurate. Good for chatting within a group.

The best alternative to SMS I've used. Beluga is truly great. The thing about text-messaging alternative apps (like Kik) is that they just don't implement enough features to make people want to use them as opposed to SMS. Getting all your friends in the boat is hard. But with the slick design, intuitive messaging system, GPS tracking, picture messaging and multi-person chat "Pods", I've been able to convince a dozen friends to start using it in two days' time. One caveat: it seems to tax the battery a little bit, but it may be my settings.

Great app... too many misconceptions. Unlike what PortraitWords said, it's GREAT for people with friends without smartphones... all you need is someone with a smartphone to create a pod and invite other people (with a smartphone or not). All you have to do is reply to the number assigned to the pod, and everyone gets the message, smartphone or not. Reply online or via phone... truly cross-platform. It's like group text messaging... you don't need to see if someone is online.
