AAC Speech Buddy (v. 1.6) Разработано Code Dimensions |
The AAC Speech Buddy was created to quickly & easily create custom Speech Sets Online (aacspeech.com) which could be loaded on one or many AAC Speech Buddy Apps. The AAC Speech Buddy comes complete with several demo speech sets - and access to our Default Profile menus. Users are welcomed to create FREE LOGIN accounts online at AACSPEECH.COM - and build customized menus with 6 Text-to-Speech voices to choose from. - or use profiles created by other users with a provided profile id#
The AACSpeechBuddy solution allows users to quickly and easily create customized Speech Sets using their own photos or collected images, or using images from the AACSpeech.com image repository.
With the AACSpeech.com image repository you have access to over 2000+ images from the Mulberry Symbols collection by Paxtoncrafts Charitable Trust.
These images are internationally recognized standardized PECS images, and are now available FREE for use in your own custom speech sets.
Users can also share content with each other , allowing Teachers & Parents to create and share Speech Sets - that can be loaded onto the AACSpeechBuddy APP
Teachers & Parents can create and group Speech Sets into profiles - which allow the sets to load on ANY AACSpeechBuddy Application - by simply entering the profile #ID in the AACSpeechBuddy App
Once the Speech Sets are loaded they DO NOT require a network connection to run - the App and Desktop Application only requires a live internet connection when loading new or updated speech sets.
Once the Speech Sets are loaded the APP and Applications access the Speech Sets locally.

[2012-03-17] A Google User: Great potential, ruined by tons of little things For an app in this $ range I expected decent quality. The more I use it, I find bugs (e.g. sound didn't record, recording cuts off (only on device, not web), force close errors, errors uploading pictures, pictures not uniform, some big, small, square, some rectangle). I find tons of little annoyances: It has terrible TTS synthesis (not Android's TTS)/ some words you can't even understand. The way of adding pictures is inneficient. It lacks reasonable options to customize per needs of your child (e.g. turn sentence building on/off, etc). This brings my biggest issue: its too easy for kids to mess it up (which is not the kid's fault). In addition to the board pictures, there are 6 extra buttons (menu, back, view, clear, delete, and speak). These buttons are tiny/often in the way/not intuative. There is no guard keeping a button from being pressed multiple times. There's other things but I'm out of space here. Its a shame this program isn't updated much. There is one other app (FREE!! but found after I already purchased this) on the market that that puts this app to same in terms of being able to actually use it with a disabled child. It just doesn't have the web board maker. |

[2010-12-16] A Google User: Great app. Our 8 year old non-verbal daughter uses this on our 10 inch Android tablet. The icons and fonts resize nicely to the large screen. |

[2010-11-16] A Google User: Excellent software. Nearly identical to the device my son uses at school. The developers are quick to respond to any questions or comments. |
