This application is a simple resource to help you organize your Lotusphere 2011 schedule and get you to the events you need to go to. The data is driven by the wonderful database created by the folks at www.geniisoft.com
The main screen lists the events of Lotusphere 2011. There are rather a lot! To make it more manageable, you can access the menu to sort or filter this view by a number of criteria. Additionally, events that are taking place today will have their time backlight in light blue. Events that are taking place now will have their time backlight in blue. Events that you have liked will be backlight in green.
Selecting the code for an event brings you to the even screen. This gives full details and a map to the event's location.
If the schedule changes, we'll attempt to wrap that up in a new version. Check the Android Marketplace for an update as we get closer to the event.  
This application was written by Jo Grant. Although an IBM employee, this is not an official application provided by IBM or the Lotusphere team.

BluePiano Bluetooth Wedge Demo (v. 1.3.3)

BluePiano automates data-entry. This keyboard wedge injects captured Bluetooth SPP data into arbitrary apps: the data appears as entered manually.

This new input method provides a soft-keyboard with Bluetooth connectivity. It captures data from external Bluetooth SPP / Bluetooth RFCOMM devices and forwards the received data automatically to the edit field of the active app. BluePiano works with all Bluetooth SPP devices. Special Android-enabled bar-code scanners are not required (please note: HID devices like external Bluetooth keyboards are NOT supported).

A few application scenarios: bar-code scanning with external Bluetooth barcode-scanners (e.g. with the Motorola/Symbol CS3070 Bluetooth scanner), data collection with Bluetooth-enabled medical devices, generic data acquisition tasks with scales and gauges connected via a Serial-to-Bluetooth adapter.

BluePiano is easy to use, lost Bluetooth connections can be restored via a special key on the keyboard or via the notification bar (configurable in settings). For backup purposes BluePiano is also able to scan barcodes using camera barcode scanners (either with the built-in or an external camera scanner app). English, German, French, Russian and Swedish keyboard layouts are available.

SECURITY: This App does not require Internet or SMS permissions. Your data is safe - spying/phishing/keylogging is impossible.

KNOWN PROBLEMS: Some earlier Android handsets are using buggy Bluetooth firmware and SPP communication may not work reliable. You will see SPP errors in the Bluetooth Device Manager of BluePiano (long tap on the ?123 key of the BluePiano keyboard). The following procedure may help:
- Switch of Bluetooth and stop all related apps
- Reboot handset
- Switch Bluetooth on
- Re-pair with your device
- Use BluePiano

The Business Calendar Network app is a new way to discover business, professional, tech, and biotech events happening in your area in North America.  It was designed specifically for entrepreneurs and professionals looking to develop their business, their career, or their network.  Use it to keep up with your local startup scene and meet and connect with potential investors, clients, employers, and colleagues. Lawyers, accountants, and sales reps will find this app a valuable tool for finding the best networking events.

The events are pulled from an ongoing feed of events from the web-based Business Calendar Network.  The Business Calendar Network started in Philadelphia and is being rolled out into new regions, so events can be found for locations all across the U.S.  Users can add their own events if they want to share them with the community.

We are still building out the Business Calendar Network.  If no events are found in your area, you can add some yourself, tell your friends to add some, or let us know where you are and what you want and we can add some.  The best option is to have the organizations in your area join the Business Calendar Network.  Let us know who to call.

Find the Events that Matter.

The Base page starts with business events and entrepreneurial events within 30 miles of your current location, using your phone’s built-in geolocation functions.

The Event Detail page shows you all you need to know about a particular event.   You can see the event name, the presenting organization, the date and time, a description, a location, and (if available) contact information and web address.  You can bookmark an event for later recall, invite friends, or save it to your phone’s calendar.

Meals highlights events that offer meals:  breakfast, lunch, dinner, or cocktails.  It shows events for the next five days.

Search allows you to find events by keyword, by date, by distance from either your current location or a particular ZIP code, or by meal.

Bookmark shows the events that you have saved for future reference.
