Search an article on Wikipedia directly from the Quick Search Box (Google search widget).
Tapping on a suggestion sends you to the article on Wikipedia's mobile website.
Three languages are available: English, French and German.

Image previews of the articles are displayed when available. If the search is not responsive you may need to update the Google Search App.

You have to enable this app first: tap the widget, then Menu > Search settings > Searchable items and check "Wikipedia" and/or "French Wiki" and/or "German Wiki".

You can also create a shortcut to a Search Bar that searches only Wikipedia:
*for Android 3+, add the Widget called "Wikipedia QSB" to your home screen;
*for older versions, long press the home screen, then Shortcuts > Wikipedia QSB.

Internet permission is for collecting search suggestions from Wikipedia.

This is an open source software.

Update is crap Used to be the best Wiki as of today is the worst. No longer can be installed, the widget doesn't display, the Google Play item no longer even has an Open button after installing it.

Uninstallng as it has a better, more official replacement I had already downloaded the official app from Wikipedia, so this was useless for me. But it helped me the other way round.. It took me to search suggestions settings where I saw my original wiki app unchecked. I checked it n now I have no need to get a Wikipedia widget as I can search into it from google itself. Thanks!

Useful Like it ! Very convenient ! For those who don't see Wikipedia search results, go to Google Now settings, find "Phone search" option then select Wikipedia. Problem solved.
