The Hubpages team was founded by three guys out of Microsoft that were part of the successful startup MongoMusic. The team includes Paul Edmondson, Jay Reitz, and Paul Deeds. Many of you may have heard of Squidoo which is a competitor of Hubpages. Basically both of them are a ?free-hosted community of content producers?. Both Squidoo and Hubpages can be ?grouped? into the Web 2.0 movement ? where user generated content rules. Both Squidoo and Hubpages SHARE REVENUE with their content creators (YOU). In my experience the revenue numbers are still low, but the opportunity is growing. (But as you will see throughout this report, there are MANY other reasons to focus on Hubpages vs. just the revenue sharing . . .) One of Hubpages differences is in how they share profits with the producers of the content on this free hosting / Web 2.0 platform:

Hubpages purpose is to provide easy-to-use tools and traffic to help anyone to produce content and monetize their knowledge by creating webpages. There will be monetization programs to choose from consisting of products, advertisements and lead generation tools that each person can easily incorporate into their pages. Hubpages will split revenue with the content creator. The pages are organized in the Hubpages website based on algorithmic quality index that promotes the best pages throughout the hierarchy (based on tags) of the website. Each author will earn a reputation score called a HubScore that can be referenced to meter the quality of the content by an author. Hubpages will be positioned to take advantage of the significant numbers of new web content providers that want to supplement their income through content like many people do on eBay by selling goods.

We all hear how building a mailing list is one of the most important aspects of being successful online. Time and time again, day after day, we hear “The Money Is In The List.”

And you know what? That statement is 100% correctamundo.

So, if everyone keeps going on about building mailing lists and people keep asking “how do I start to build a mailing list”there obviously must be insufficient information on the market detailing how people can start, then grow their mailing lists.

Throwing away a pair of old socks may not seem that important. After all, you’ve got a  house full of stuff. However, what if that pair of socks could save you $36 over the next year?  Many people would march right out to the garbage bin and bring those socks right back inside! By  using a pair of old but clean cotton socks as dusting rags, you can save more than $36 every year.

Most people normally purchase dust clothes at the store and those can cost upwards of $3  for one pack, which only lasts about one month on average. Suddenly you’re looking at a sizable  expense in dust clothes.

Keep your money in your wallet and instead follow the principle of recycling by using an  old item to meet a current need. Slide an old sock over one hand and you’ve got the perfect  dusting mitt…for free! No more costly “dirt-clinging” wipes that run out too fast. Your mitt can be  reused over and over again.

The principle of reusing household items like this is not a new one. In fact, people have  been doing it almost since time began. Just because you lack a certain item doesn’t mean that  your need for it disappears. Instead, you have to adapt to meet that need and that can require  some creative thinking. Preface-The doctrine taught concerning Satan, his motives and influence in the beginning of this century, supplied the popular mind with reasons to account for almost all the evils, public and private, which befell society; and as the observed ills of life, real or imaginary, greatly outnumbered the observed good occurrences, the thought of Satan was more constantly before the people's mind than was the thought of God. Practically, it might be said, and said with a very near approach to truth, that Satan, in popular estimation, was the greater of the two; but theoretically, the superiority of God was allowed, for Satan it was believed, was permitted by God to do what he did. It was commonly said, "Never speak evil of the Deil, for he has a long memory." This Satanic belief gave rise to a great amount of Folk Lore, and affected the whole social system. Historians who take no account of such beliefs, but regard them as trivialities, cannot but fail to represent faithfully the condition and action of the people. Folk Lore has thus an important historical bearing. Every age has had its own living Folk Lore, and, beside this, a residuum of waning lore, regarded as superstitious, and so it is at the present day. When we speak of the Folk Lore of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, we believe that we are speaking of beliefs which have past away, beliefs from which we ourselves are free; but if we consider the matter carefully we will find that in many respects our beliefs and practices, although somewhat modernized, are essentially little different from those of last century. Among the better educated classes it may be said that much of the superstitions of former times have passed away, and as education is extended they will more and more become eradicated; but at present, in our rural districts especially, the old beliefs still linger in considerable force. Many think that the superstitions of last century died with the century, but this is not so; and as these notions are curious and in many respects important historical factors, I have thought it worth while to jot down what of this Folk Lore has come under my observation during these last sixty years.
