The Lovely Bones is a 2002 novel by Alice Sebold. A 14 year old girl died on her birthday. Her dad thinks a certain man is the one who killed her. He keeps seeing her ghost spirit. He can see that she needs help.
When we first meet 14-year-old Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven.
