Referey allows you to view your Mendeley (http://www.mendeley.com) database and open associated local files on your Android phone or from your Dropbox. Please be aware that this is not an official Mendeley application!

Referey expects the Mendeley SQLite database and the associated files on the SD card. Referey does not use the Mendeley Open API.

Referey has the following functions:
- show reference list
- filter by collection or group
- filter by tags, authors, journal and publication date
- sort references
- search
- show reference details including notes and annotations (only the annotation text is shown)
- open associated files from SD card or Dropbox
- send file via email

A detailed documentation with instructions on how to set up the database and PDF files for Referey is located on the following webpage: http://www.referey.web44.net

Dropbox support is experimental and requires that the original Dropbox application is installed. If the associated files are located in your Dropbox please specify the following "PDF folder path" in Preferences:
dropbox://foldername

Clean, quick, dedicated developer This app does take some tinkering to get set up properly. I sent a few emails to the developer who was a great help and replied very quickly. Dropbox sync is a bit finicky but there is a workaround using an app called dropsync that I've discovered. Now have access to all my articles on the go! Loving it!!!

Missing vital feature So you made an app for an online service that doesn't use the API? Garbage.

Very good app Just what I need to keep an organised offline copy of my PDFs and references which is always with me. I sync from my Linux Mendeley Desktop because I often have limited or no access to the internet. Lately however, Referey cannot use my sqlite file - perhaps too big or new version of Mendeley 1.7 uses an incompatible sqlite structure. I will try to solve this issue so that I can enjoy Referey again.

I tried all Mendeley apps, this is the best I have over thousands of pdfs on my nexus 7. The only way I got Mendeley to work and save my annotations to the pdf is via referey. I store my pdfs in dropbox. The Mendeley sqlite db is also downloaded via dropbox. The developer is very responsive in helping me solving issues of displaying the filters for the large database. New version of Mendeley (1.7) broke the compatibility with old database. The developer was able to fix it in a few hours after I notified him the issue. Couldn't ask for more!

Absolutely fantastic app After using scholarley and droiderley and all the others that don't work, I was very grateful to find this app.

Wonderful I use SugarSync to sync the Mendeley database file and my PDF folder between my PC and my tablet. The ability of Referee to remap file paths is fantastic. Thank you!

It Works!!! Lacking most of the functionality of the pc mendeley but has the most important parts-> organization of all my pdfs plus info. Many thanks to the developer!

good but needs syncing Works on my Nexus 7. Setup is a little complicated but I figured it out in a few minutes because I needed alternative paths. The instructions are helpful but could probably be more explicit. I like Scholarley better as far as aesthetics and useage but it is having issues with authentication. That is because I actually can sync everything with the free folder on Mendeley (for a couple years anyways) and then access those. If Referey could sync at least to my computer, like point it to the location of the database file and the PDFs on my computer then that would be fine too - the online part isn't what excites me - just want to sync.

Best Mendeley Client around I'm using it on my tablet and is very useful to keep all my papers synchronized with my PC. By the way I use it with FolderSync and Google Drive to store the files, which works better than the old Dropbox app. The fact that you can make changes (like notes or highlighting) to the PDFs and synchronize those changes gives it a decisive advantage over other Mendeley clients around. And it works great! The interface could use a bit more work (Droideley for example looks much better, and Scholarley looks better in tablets), but besides that it is a great app!
