This is an educational and reference tool and is NOT intended for flight planning.

Permissions explained: (for the paranoic in you :-))

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - Allows this application to view the state of all networks. Used to determine if there's a network connection.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Allows this application to write to USB storage. Used to store aircraft data on local device.
INTERNET - Allows this application to create network sockets. Used to get files from remote servers.

A must for aircraft lovers, planespotters, and those looking to learn more about airplanes. This is a very nice application. It has a substantial database of most common aircraft with photos, 3d diagrams, and technical info. It's easy to scroll down to the list of the aircraft of your choice or search. It's full featured, free, and has no ads. Nice work.

Airplanes, airplnes airplane...(",) I've been a lover of aircraft for as long as I can remember and can differentiate one for an other at a quick glance. Now my little boy has started to take an interest this is just the kind of app' I've been looking for. I now don't have to carry around a bulky copy of Jane's aircraft recognition or one of the many other books I own. Everything I need is right here on my phone for quick reference and If like me you know what you're looking for it's no problem navigating. As far as I'm concerned it's 5 stars, though not essential, I would love to have a favourites included. Thanks, (from both a Big, and little boy)

Nice try Atrocious search function. The list of aircraft is huge and not navigable. Units are mixed metric/English difficult to understand due to inconsistency. Nice concept, if only it were useful.

A few tweaks needed It's very good but it needs some tweaking, for instance the search function is pretty much useless unless you no the exact registered ident of the plane, you can't just search for bristol or boeing, you need the full name. Also if you view a plane, when you go back to the plane list it throws you back up to the top of the list, so you have to scroll back down to where you were. Frustrating. Fix that and you've got a 5 star app.

Hank Aussie-in-NZ This a fantastic pictorial list of aircraft information. What's really lacking is a good search facility. I UNSUCCESSFULLY searched for known aircraft but when I scrolled through the list,they COULD be found. Therefore, I have awarded this Ap with a Two Star rating just now but when the search facility improves, I will revise this Star rating.

:) I found inside some wrong photos, for example in the B757's image place application shows B747. I hope you will fix it but generally application is very usefull :)

cool app Well presented & comprehensive app, very useful for aircraft aficionados. Thomas, the SR-71 and the Black Hawk are both there, you have to search the app by manufacturer, eg. Sikorsky for the Black Hawk (listed under H60) or Lockheed for the Blackbird

Not quite Not quite good. One can't find many historical aircraft like SR-71 Blackbird, the fastest air-breathing machine in history or a common UH-60 black hawk helicopter. 2 stars.

So-so As someone whos worked in airport related operations for 12 years I noticed many of the same 3D pics used for multiple aircraft so they are not dependable. Some of the actual photos are not correct for some of the aircraft types. Ie. 757-300 shows a pic of a 747. One other option would be to select the unit of measurements from either standard or metric. Otherwise very neat app idea. Could he very useful :)

Mixed Handy with articles for differing variations, and technical data. Needs newer images, (some low quality, some articles missing images). (757-300 for example.) Surely there are plenty of royalty free images. And weird search feature that doesn't understand "747". Aircraft are organised by designation names (A-Z), not categorised/A-Z like "Janes" which is annoying. Summary: Basic functionality good. Programmes/presentation needs updating.

Just what i was looking for This is the best aircraft encyclopedia i have come across for the android. Only problem is not all planes have an image or 3d image. Apart from that is great :D
