Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (v. 1.0) Разработано Loudbook |
“Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes” is Doyle’s last storybook about the famous detective. After seven years of their co-existence Holmes began to weigh upon Doyle. In 1893, in the story "The Final Problem" the author tried to do away with his hero, put him to death. Fans of the detective, whose interest was only growing, were outraged. By fate’s decree in 1901, Doyle heard legends of a giant ‘ghost dog’, and for there was no need to invent a new hero, he brought back Holmes from the dead, to never part with him until his dying day. So the detective’s life lasted through two storybooks: next came ”The Return of Sherlock Holmes“, followed by “The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes”.
