《古炉》，贾平凹长篇长篇小说之一，字数达64万，由人民文学出版社出版。这部作品的时代背景是文革，，作品中的村庄原型是陕西省铜川市的陈炉古镇。《古炉》讲述的是一个烧制瓷器的叫古炉的村子，偏僻却又山水清明，村人擅长技工，却又极度贫穷。在“文革”中，他们使强用恨，争吵不休……《古炉》这部作品的内容主要是贾平凹少年时代的经历，带有回忆性质。　
　继《秦腔》、《高兴》之后，贾平凹历时近四年，写坏300支笔创作的长篇小说《古炉》近日完稿。这本长达64万字，作者迄今为止最长的作品，在三易其稿后将由人民文学出版社于明年年初出版。出版前，《当代》杂志将在今年第六期和明年第一期分两期刊发。
　　尽管作者低调，不愿接受采访，但他近日和著名文字评论家韩鲁华的一番对话和已经公开的《后记》，却向公众敞开了通往他精神世界的大门，让读者得以近距离感知这个作家文字背后的内心世界。
