Chinese Dictionary+Flashcards (v. 2.5) Разработано Molatra |
trainchinese will teach you Chinese, with a free and complete dictionary, thousands of vocab lists, example sentences, audio recordings and character animations - and a powerful flash card system featuring handwriting training!
★ Unlike the other Chinese apps, we're using our very own dictionary that you won't find anywhere else. That means we're adding to it all the time, giving context to entries with new example sentences, and continually recording audio and stroke animations to improve it.
★ trainchinese is great for study, because our words are organised into more than 1,000 word lists covering topics from International Relations to American Football Teams and more. Feel like something's missing? Users often get in touch to ask for lists on the topics the're studying, and we're happy to oblige!
★ Highlight words with your finger for super-fast access to character animations, related searches and more!
★ Whether you're studying the Simplified (mainland China and Singapore) or Traditional (Hong Kong and Taiwan) variants, we've got you covered! Easily switch between them or choose to display both in dictionary results and on flash cards.
★ Create flash cards with audio and animation from dictionary entries. Organise them into lists, and share them with friends (or students).
★ The Spaced Repetition system ensures you'll memorize those words for good.
★ Train however you want: each card is available in four different modes to test different aspects of Chinese study. See Chinese, Pinyin or English and get tested on translation, and even compare your handwriting to a stroke-order animation side-by-side, synchronized!
★ Flash cards are saved on your device and synchronized with trainchinese.com, where you can also train with them and find more great content.
★ Add study notes to your flash cards - they're saved and backed up at trainchinese.com.

[2012-06-09] the.yangist: Card Limit Nonsense The "Update" feature loads unwanted cards. Then the site has the nerve to request a fee if I want to study more than ten cards per week. Then why load cards that I didn't want? The dictionary is a POS-tagged CC-EDict. It's not special or unique. All of the word lists are available on, if not stolen from, Anki and other free sites. If you're paying for this stuff, you're getting ripped off. |

[2012-02-28] Gregory: My fingers are too big, the buttons are too small. My fingers are too big, and the buttons are too small. That is because it is a quick and dirty port of a web application, that was not adjusted for android screen sizes. I haven't used it enough to rate its educational value. |
|
[2012-02-26] Mark: The flashcard system is good This is a review of the paid subscription that is optional, that give full access to the flashcard system. It's definitely worth spending $5/mo for a subscription (less for longer) to get full access to the flashcard system. I've been using the app for 3 weeks now, and I'm finding it very useful for memorization of vocabulary. Pluses: 1) Huge set of words and phrases, with audio for almost all of them 2) Reasonably good "sleeping card" system to reinforce vocab you learned in the past 3) Pretty easy to add words to your list from the dictionary 4) You can make separate lists that are not part of your current set you're studying Negatives: 1) Web interface can be confusing 2) If you've "learned" a card, you can't practice it as part of your training until it's no longer "sleeping". Because of this you can find yourself without cards to practice unless you are willing to add new words. |
|
[2012-02-21] Jack: Too good to be true! I thought this app was amazing, and it is, its just way too expensive to update. Monthly fee! No way. Shame. |

|
[2012-02-10] wez: Need to register! Need to register just to download audio files. Worst, different pingyi with the same character. Just try 'bu' in dictionary! |
|
[2012-02-07] ivan: Overall very good Good app, but Android users will sometimes have problems raising the volume in the app. The solution is to press the grey trainchinese sound button and immediately afterwards press the volume button on the phone. You'll have about half a second during which it's possible to change the volume. Seems like something a good programmer can fix for the next update. |
|
